[Lenovo Canada] (EPP Discount) Lenovo IdeaPad S340 ("15 Touch) FHD, Ryzen 5 3500U, 8GB, 256 SSD for $553

NOTE: You must use the EPP url/login to access this deal, click the link or alternatively log into the EPP portal using these details found here: http://forums.redflagdeals.com/lenovo-c ... ed-777107/

You cannot use cashback for EPP discounts. There is also another ideapad S340 for $50 less, but you get a non-touch, crappier display panel and I strongly suggest spending the extra $50 for a better display.

This is not as hot as the black friday deal (approximately $30 more expensive due to ebates) but it is still VERY good for the specs:

Processor
AMD Ryzen™ 5 3500U (2.1GHz, up to 3.70GHz with Max Boost, 4MB Cache)

Display Type

Memory
8GB DDR4 2400MHz (4GB Soldered + 4GB DIMM)

Hard Drive
256GB SSD PCIe

Warranty
1 Year Depot or Carry-in

Graphics
Integrated AMD Radeon™ Vega 8 Graphics

Bluetooth
Bluetooth® 4.2

Camera
720p HD

Keyboard
Backlit - US English

Wireless
Lenovo AC Wireless (1 x 1)

I got a lower spec of this S340 for $375 a few weeks ago. The S key keeps getting stuck. Tried removing it and cleaning it although I've only used it for a few hours. Anyone know if Lenovo warranty would cover this? Or do I have to return it Unamused Face

Probably the first decent laptop deal I have seen on RFD in ages haha. This is a good buy with the Ryzen 5 3500U in it - you actually get some useful graphics performance with it too. Checks all the boxes for a sub-$600 machine (1080P IPS, minimum 8GB RAM, minimum 256GB SSD, modern 4c/8t processor and usable integrated graphics).

The Ryzen 4000 mobile APUs have a fairly dramatic performance increase over the 3000 series and Lenovo will be offering lots of models with them, so they are probably clearing these out.

I got the same spec innards S540 14 at Xmas.
It’s a nippy machine and the metal chassis has a nice feel to it. This is a great price.

for that price, can't do much better. lenovo has excellent service if any probs

for a student or basic office use its a no brainer. i dont care for touchscreen use at all for a screen that large, but for the extra 30nits its worth it

How is their return? I am recommending it to a family member, I wanna know if anyone had trouble returning if not satisfied.

Also, is the battery life even close to 8 hours?
Stay strong, situation always looks harder and that it will never end when you are in the middle of it, but remember past experiences, everything has an ending.

Been looking around for a nice hard case for this, just like one of them Apple lovers use on their Macbook. Any finds? No budget, just want good protection.

I know it's not a thinkpad but how does it compare in build quality? I was looking at a used T460s for around the same price.

I wont be doing much gaming or anything hardware intensive (so the speed difference isn't that big of a deal); and this would be brand new with warranty (with a better battery since it's new).

/edit: ok the T460s is almost a lb lighter. I'll wait for something 13-14" for this price.

Trying to purchase this but it keeps rejecting my email, asking me to insert a valid email address... Any ideas?

Edit; not sure what the issue was but it finally took it. Thank OP!

Ordered, thanks OP.

Anyone know why Lenovo doesn’t publish the ssd maker? I can’t find it anywhere. Does anyone know what make and model they use for this laptop?
