Thanks! I thought I didn't qualify, but the "holiday period" started 2020 October 26. So: get your requests in before Jan 15.

Chat works? That should be easier than email. Beware: some parts of chat only work during business hours.

Your numbers are wrong, here is the adjusted pricing:

  • $542/4350GE/4GB RAM/500GB HDD
  • $662/4650GE/8GB RAM/256 SSD M.2
  • $704/4650/16GB RAM/512 SSD M.2

By far the better deal is the $704 when you start to look at all the upgrades for CPU/RAM/SSD.

I bought the old generation with the 3400GE a few months ago for $699 that only had 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD. This is a smoking deal! This processsor 4650GE compared to the 3400GE is about 20% faster in single thread and 100% in mulitple thread all while having the same 35W TDP. Meaning it will be running silent for most uses. I decided to upgrade at this price and it will last me for a long time. 3200 RAM is the sweet spot for Renoir and cost for memory is a bit more expensive for a stand-alone upgrade.

Very easy to upgrade with 2 x SODIMM slots, 1 x M.2 for NVME SSD and 1 x SATA for HDD. Packing a lot for a 1L box.

Here is the my old thread that give you some details on the unit/upgradability here. I would make the assumption that everything in my review holds up with the Gen 2.

UPDATE: The shipping date for the $704 4650GE/16GB RAM/512GB SSD was at the END OF MAY. That's a long ways off. I'm actually very happy with the 3400GE...I think I'll cancel.

I wonder if that's the real shipping date. I ordered mine on December 8 and it was delivered December 17.

I also wonder why the price dropped. At just about the time of the AMD's announcement at CES of Zen3-based mobile processors. The 4650GE is Zen2.

At this price, I think I'm returning the Acer Veriton, I don't care about upgrading the GPU, I don't think there's a better office unit with the same specs. I was able to get 7% ($50) cash back posted next day. Make sure the Lenovo rep create a quote for you under the webca store and not the perk (see screenshot). If you checkout the perk store, you will not get CB.

Sounds like a broad generalization.

would you please let me know the steps how you were able to get a quote under the webca store?

I asked for a quote twice already and both are showing as "workperksca"

It took me several attempts as well, what I tried is use icognito mode, don't login to your account, go to the workperksca product page, add it to the cart, take not of the cart ID which you can find below price summary, open a chat, ask rep to create a quote using the cart ID and your email, then login to your account and see if it's under webca this time.

Do you need to have perkoplis or EPP to get this pricing? Are there any other ways to match the price?

It looks like it's YMMV depending on which rep you get, I was twice unsuccessful today to reproduce the quote under webca store :(
