Memory is 4 soldered + dimm, not a fan of that but might work for some. Casual Gamer, yes! Business/moving around office but not on a plane, yes!

Would I buy, no..but for most it's a damn good machine at that price

Koodo too: for a phone and locked to 24 months but was a good deal.

May I ask why it's not good for on a plane?

Doesn't support USB C charging but since its relatively large, probably stationary most of the time

Decent color reproduction for users. The top lid and bottom cover is made from plastic. Higher end computers have their lids and/or bottom made of aluminum.

This is a very good price for a 17" display notebook. It's tough to find these because there's a limited market for them.

I wouldn't call a 17inch laptop a notebook. Why do they even sell 17inch laptops. Might as well lug around a tower in your backpack

You'd usually see people lug these around in a roller tote bag. But yeah, these are basically desktop PCs for people with small desks, and small rooms.

Fair enough. Bitter topic since I'm travelling for work right now with a 17inch laptop I would have never bought if I had a choice. Not a great idea for anything but leaving on a desk. And if that's the plan then there's lots of other options with much more flexibility

For sure. I'm not a gamer, so I've almost switched to exclusively using those USFF PC. They can sit on your desk or mounted to the back of your monitor, and would take up almost no desk space. And you can throw them in your briefcase and take them to the office.

Ok my first portable computer weighed 40lbs and had a 4 inch screen. There is a use-case for everything, but yeah 17" laptops have low demand. Remember, opinions vary:

Gaming: Now given the price of GPUs + a desktop vs. laptop GPUs on a pre-built 17" system the latter has been a great value proposition for some; this isn't a gaming PC but will probably play many mid-ridge games + emulate PS2/Gamecube/Wii with ease. (Ps3 would be hit/miss) However we have seen 17" gaming units for under $1500

Officework: this is great for an office, use in office and take short walks to board rooms but battery life would be "iffy" for long sessions.

Downsizing: say you live in a small apartment, on of this minihomes, or an RV; this would be great!

Hey I am a big guy, when I did my CMA everyone had big laptops, I had a 10" Atom Netbook with me....again needs vary! Now I love my 13" chromebook for battery life, but not performance or screen size. Not everyone needs everything, but for many: it's a good price and thumbs up!

They're for people who keep them in the living room. They don't need to be very portable and they don't need a computer desk. It's not something a tech enthusiast would ever buy but it works for some of my older relatives.

unless rakuten's cb matches ebay's 15% off, its better off to buy off ebay. currently rakuten's cb on lenovo is only 6%

and plus, the discount is instant on ebay, no need to wait for rakuten to verify your purchase and possibly reject your cb due to technical issues etc (happened to me before)

but the ebay's 15% discount will expire on march 20th, so i guess it's a march-break-only sale
