Um ok. Do we have a source on this? I am a bit skeptical about skipping over BF and CM sales without some idea where the info is coming from :) No offense though at all, if its true then great (unless its the build with half the ram and a small SSD). Thanks in advance for any info :)
OP First posted this when the flyer had this model he speaks of on sale for $1489. Unfortunately, that original flyer is no where to be found and that model is no longer listed as a y540 variant on the website but there are spec PDFs available on the site of this model. (https://psref.lenovo.com/Detail/Lenovo% ... 81Q40008US)
So it does exists but you would be rolling the dice to see if it does in fact come back or not.

What? The flyer linked in the OP lists the 81Q40008US at 1489.99 on 12/02, 12PM ET. Page 26.

Hey Folks, thanks for the clarification. I suppose I missed it as the model I was talking about a was the 740 and this is the 540. Not a whole lot of difference parts wise I doesn't appear, other than the physical build quality of the 740 is apparently a bit better than the 540 (again, no idea if this is the case, but just what I have read/seen in reviews).
Thanks for the info folks....guess I have to decide to pull the trigger on the current sale or wait on the one apparently coming back on the 2nd.

They've updated that page since I last visited. The flyer disappeared for a bit but they've since updated it with a new flyer. If you can get more than cash back on this, it's a good deal.

Laptop is one of the few things you don’t need to rush into Black Friday buying. Unless you want a very specific laptop and need it before boxing week. Otherwise most deals will be the same or better between Black Friday to Boxing Day (most deals do repeat on Boxing Day too).

The reason for this is unlike TVs, video games, appliances, etc... computer parts continue to drop in price all year long. There isn’t set annual release dates either so component prices keep dropping over time. Example AMD will be releasing 5800 series likely early next year and that will likely impact the price of mid range video cards since it will bring some high end competition for Nvidia (aka minor price wars/drops). That means the same hardware is generally same or cheaper on Boxing Day as Black Friday. Worst case, you will likely find the same deal on Boxing Day (assuming you are just after specific specs and don’t care which brand).

Of course any difference you find likely won’t be that big. I don’t know if there will be other deals via Lenovo but honestly looking at the deals, I don’t find them too hot/similar to deals you can find year long (relatively speaking cause of course prices continue to drop over time).

The coupon code CYBER5YOGA gives a $279.40 discount on the customizable version which is the cheapest I have seen yet though I have not been tracking the price very often. I remember a few weeks back there was a $250 off coupon on Rakuten that is now expired.

How many minutes you guys think it will take for the $129 laptop to be sold out (1000 units) ?

Anyone have an idea whether the x1 extreme gen 2 is likely to go any lower? I'm looking at the i7 9750h with the 500nit 1080p display.

spent sooo much time looking at laptop deals and I am pretty sure the deal on page 5 of the flyer for the 17" legion 540 with the i7 and rtx 2060 @ 1498 will be the best deal for me. If Rakuten 6% and the 5% promo code are eligible then it should be ~$1360.

Keep in mind it has a spinning HDD, not SSD.

What 5% promo code?
