[Lenovo Canada] Lenovo Black Friday ThinkPad Deals (4K Touch X1Y & i7-10750H X1E)

Per Lenovo's posted Black Friday deals on its website (https://www.lenovo.com/ca/en/catalog/black-friday-deals), the following two deals will be alive on Monday (price is before cashback):

ThinkPad X1 Yoga Gen 5, $1,349.99, available on 11/30 9AM ET
Part N°: 20UB000SUS. 14.0" 4K Touch. 10th Gen Intel® Core™ i5. 16GB RAM. 512GB SSD.
This one's display is really good: 14.0” UHD (3840 x 2160) IPS, anti-reflective, touchscreen with Dolby Vision™, HDR 400, 500 nits
A comparison of US and Canadian version of the BF catalogs shows this deal is legit.

ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 3, $1,399.99, available on 11/30 12PM ET
Part N°: 20TK001FUS. 15.6" FHD 300 nits. 10th Gen Intel® Core™ i7-10750H. 16GB RAM. 512GB SSD. NVIDIA GTX 1650 Ti Max-Q 4GB.
This one's CPU is quite good: 2.60 GHz, up to 5.00 GHz with Turbo Boost, 6 Cores, 12 Threads, 12 MB Cache
A comparison of US and Canadian version of the BF catalogs shows the price could be an error. Both catalogs shows $1400 for this X1E. For the X1C below , US catalog price is $1000, Canadian catalog price is $1330.
However, it is expected Lenovo will honor its flyer; if not, and you are really interested in this deal, maybe you can call Lenovo at Monday noon to request a price adjustment.

The following deals are alive as of 5pm of Nov. 27 Friday. They are selected based on the criteria of decent display, 16GB RAM, and value for money (price is after 12% Rakuten cash back):

The X1 Extreme Cpu is strong but display is weak. I buy it for wife's programming school, which one is suit for her? Thanks.

Nothing hot that I see. Looks more like a Intel 10th gen sale to make room for gen 11...

The X1C you ordered is most lightweight. It also has twice more SSD.

The i5 CPU in the X1 Yoga is actually only 10 percent less powerful than the i7 in the X1C. A bigger issue is the 4K display will lead to shorter battery life.

The dimensions of the X1 Extreme might be too big for carrying around. If the dimensions can be tolerated, this one may be the best choice due to bigger display, more powerful CPU, dedicated GPU for almost the same price.

Actually, the X1 Extreme Gen 3 for $1399 seems like a good deal... comparable to a Dell XPS 15, but perhaps with a weaker panel?

I like the fact that it still has legacy I/O such as USB-A and HDMI ports, instead of only USB-C.

I still get a better deal on my affiliate site so I didn't investigate much.

Where do we see the X1 extreme gen 3 deal? Couldn't find it under Black Friday or Cyber Monday sections...

Did I screw up by paying $1900 a day ago?

Would the price protection stated in the screen shot be applicable?

Check last two pages of the catalog. Price protection should work. If not, you can return it and make a new purchase.

Yes, the X1 E looks good. Might actually grab one. Does this price stack with student discount?

Back in March, Gen 2 was on sale around $1650-ish, with top of the line OLED panel. Unfortunately, that screen is a power hog, and max battery life is a requirement for our purposes. Ideally, looking for 400-500 nits low power IPS with good colour reproduction

What really annoys me is the 15" x1 doesn't have a number pad.... Do they make a x1 with a number pad or am I stuck to the Tseries line up?

Is there an option to customize? I want a 1440p touchscreen or 1080 at least.
