tried to call them waited 10 min, activated the option of callback.

I managed to cancel the order online and re-bought it.
With the same account I was unable to buy again. I had to create a new account (new email)
I did get though to someone (eventually) and did a Price Guarantee Match. They just submit it for you so it still needs to be approved. We'll see. If it doesn't get approved I will just cancel. I'm a bit concerned though because I used their "multiple credit card" option and used a Vanilla Gift Mastercard for $199 and my regular Mastercard for the remainder. I hope they return the money to the regular Mastercard, otherwise it's useless to me (I threw out the gift Mastercard like an idiot after I made the purchase). I did a chat to see if I could get confirmation any money would be refunded to the actual Mastercard and chat told me it would but I don't get the impression they actually checked anything so we'll see I guess.

EDIT: actually, now that I'm thinking about it, I can't really cancel, then I'd be out $200 and not just $100 (for the PM) since I threw out the Vanilla Gift Mastercard. OMG I'm so dumb. Kids, don't be like me... :(

I ordered both as I wasn't sure which to go with.

The 13s Gen 2 Evo has the 11th gen i7, and the 14s Yoga has the 11th gen i5.

Based on initial setup and normal usage, running unplugged, battery life on both drained at relatively the same rate from 95% charge to 68%. Overnight, 10 hours, they both used little power and were sitting at 66% after being in sleep mode. Both estimates on remaining power were within 15 minutes of each other at ~5hrs

I found the fan in the 13s Gen 2 to ramp up more, I suspect being a smaller laptop it has a smaller fan that has to spin faster to cool, so the higher rpm seems more audible. The 14s Yoga wasn't as pronounced, but if you strained you could hear a faint whirring sound.

Both laptops ran fairly cool.

The display on the 14s Yoga seemed marginally brighter, to compare I watched highlights of the Raptors vs Warriors game from Jan 10th on Youtube, there's an appreciable difference in the colours of the court, jerseys, etc.

The 13s Gen 2 has a great screen, unfortunately the scaling for that screen size and resolution (2560 x 1440) either blows the windows up too much or makes the text hard to read.

For me, the 13s Gen 2 is a nice small laptop with ports, but the ramping sounds were too much to potentially live through day to day, so it will be returned.

I'm going to give the 14s Yoga a few more days to determine if it's worth keeping or sending back.

I posted this in an earlier Thinkbook thread. 13S has a higher res screen and faster RAM. Otherwise the 13S and 14S specs are the same. It's your personal preference.
Yoga branding = screen can flip around to become like a tablet.
Evo = Intel branding but ultimately meaningless as all their Tiger Lake processors have the "Evo" requirements.

For what it's worth, if you don't need a new laptop immediately then wait out for the new Ideapad 5 AMD models that were announced at CES.

Are you sure we are getting the Ideapad 5 Pro? I was actually holding off buying a laptop to pick one up but from what I'm reading it seems that it may only be available in Europe on its release in March. Hopefully I'm wrong though.

Realistically it's unlikely. But I saw that yesterday Lenovo announced new Thinkpads as well. The X1 and Titanium have better screens than even the 2021 Ideapad 5! 2021 is a good year for laptops!

Only ThinkBook 14s Yoga (14") Intel - Abyss Blue left in the i5-8GB-512SSD configuration.
Part Number: 20WE001CUS

I picked up a pair. Has anyone sourced a 8GB memory for these guys?
Might as well be proactive and upgrade to 16GB.

I know they look great but two things:
1. Only Intel versions were announced
2. Probably run upward of $2000

I'm not ready do dish out more than $1500 on a laptop and definitely not for one that doesn't run the Ryzen chip.

Note that the 14 inch model will not be sold in the USA and I’m guessing won’t be sold in Canada either.

Its showing as 8 GB RAM soldered, can someone who has the Yoga confirm if there another slot for adding more RAM?
I called the customer care and they said there is no extra slot, only in Thinkpads.

CORRECTED, see EDIT I think it depends on what model you purchase. The i7s all appear to have had the additional slot as did one of the i5 models (Part Number: 20WE001FUS) - this is the one I ended up getting (now OOS).

The i5s that are left (Grey-Part Number: 20WE001EUS and Blue-Part Number: 20WE001CUS) DO NOT advertise the additional slot and do not appear to come with one. Just the soldered 8GB one.

EDIT: NOPE, apparently on the product specifications page it does list the additional open slot for the above noted models.

Thanks. These days I think 16gb should bare minimum and with no option to expand, I'll pass.

I don't think you read any posts here. There is 1 slot soldered and 1 slot open/expandable.
