i never understand why they don't produce 1080p screens for the 17-inch size. it's always 900p

I'd be on this in a heartbeat, even for $100 more if the screen was full HD. How on earth in this day and age can they produce a 17" that's not in at LEAST full HD?

I had this in my cart, and was ready to checkout and then I noticed screen is a TN panel and I just couldn't pull the trigger lol. It is still a good deal for anyone who is interested in doing their own screen swap. Too bad you can't customize and upgrade the screen directly from Lenovo

Not direct from Lenovo, but I recall some members here ordering new panels from 3rd party resellers and swapping them out; didn't even seem to cost that much. For the price of this laptop, it'd certainly be worth considering.

Thanks OP! It's a stripped-down model but hard to argue given the price and screen size. For seniors and/or people with poor eyesight, this would be ideal.

It also seems stupid to solder on memory. And if going that route, just do 8GB instead of 4GB.

would have been worth it at 1080p :(

The deal breaker for me would be the soldered 4GB, can't have dual channel 16GB (and yeah, the resolution...).

4GB soldered RAM and 900p on a 17-inch model makes zero sense.

West GTEH!
I bought an Ideapad 3 15" with 720P screen before X-mas and thought I could tolerate it.
Nope, I couldn't. Returned it after 1 week. Confused Face

Seriously why is it always 17" with 720p ?
17" are super rare and whatever few ones we see are always 720p.
