Yup, and don't expect your money back anytime soon either. They probably have 10k+ orders to go through.SSP wrote: ↑This is BS. They cancelled my order, my card was not charged. They cancelled it fine, but don't screw over you customers like this! I will never buy from Lenovo again!!! The silence has also been a huge ***** up and I'm really infuriated they didn't even bother to apologize! furthermore I will go ahead and file a complaint! [...]

In this economy, a province would essentially be eviscerating themselves by implementing similar policies.
As mentioned previously, when your own province receives massive transfer payments, I guess you don't have to have a business friendly environment and screw businesses.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equalizati ... _in_Canada
In the 2013-2014 year, the following provinces will receive equalization payments:
Quebec $7.833 billion
And you can see here: http://www.budget.finances.gouv.qc.ca/b ... glance.pdf
On page 12, that Quebec received a total of $16.1 Billion which represented 22% of the governments revenue for the year.
Like I said before, when others are doing the work and paying for your government, you can have laws and regulations that don't make sense.

and I honestly don't care what you believe.
part of me wishes I *did* order one, as it would have made a good gift, but that's 20/20 hindsight - my first thought was that I absolutely despise thick, heavy laptops like this and it was not worth the hassle to file and complete all the forms/documentation.

I think it's important that new posters and readers should know that HeavyDutyKronos clearly has a financial incentive here.HeavyDutyKronos wrote: ↑Credit for what? wasting our time? I'll thank him when my 150 laptops arrive. ie. never

I just checked again, its under temp authorization. I don't know what the policy for MasterCard on temp authorizations at end of billing cycle. I would hope its not charged, but it does affect your credit balance (not really concerned about that part).

You likely won't be charged on that for the next statement. Only when it's confirmed then you have to pay up.

Can you please post the link for BBB as I haven't filed a complaint with them yet?

Nicole,
A BBB complaint case was escalated to my desk today concerning your request for the orders to be filled.
Lenovo apologizes for the inconvenience that this has caused and is continuing to review the situation. Please allow us the time to complete our review and we will respond as promptly as possible.

I actually think it's more of (b), since everyone who purchased the laptop had to agree to the terms that said Lenovo has the right to cancel an order in the case of a price error. I could be wrong, but i'm pretty sure a price error is a circumstance.joshdboone wrote: ↑everyone will be getting refunds , even the quebec residents.
there law is useless , read article 11 of it.
11. Any stipulation whereby a merchant reserves the right to decide unilaterally
(a) that the consumer has failed to satisfy one or another of his obligations, or
(b) that a fact or circumstance has occurred,
is prohibited.
most who ordered cannot satisfy being apart of workperks.
good luck wasting your time fighting it though....im loving it.

Once again, you can't just write a statement and trump any laws in place. If you signed a document saying I can run you over with my car on Granville street, do you think I will be charged?

I like how everyone here says they will never buy from Lenovo again... That is, until the next price error happens.

exactly, and it's like those amusement park tickets that say something like "purchase of this ticket forbids you from suing for injury or damages on rides".

companies write that kind of disclaimer to fool the morons.

Yikes, had a charge go through on my Visa just for the 2-year extended warranty. The actual Laptop is showing as temp authorization. I have sent Lenovo an email to reimburse for the extended warranty. Knew I shouldn't have tried this. :P

yep, and the stance is actually "I will never buy another lenovo product unless I am sure lenovo will lose money on it". that's standard practice for negative brand awareness.

but why would they include that article at all then? The consumer should be protected yes, but I have a hard time imagining the government will force companies to sell products at a loss when they specifically have buyers agree to their TOS
