[Lenovo Canada] Lenovo Legion 5i Pro Gen 7 (12700H+3070Ti) $2,388.23

Pretty decent deal I saw on Reddit that finally sees a reasonable price for the 12th Gen and newest iteration of NVidia GPUs.

Specs:
Core i7-12700H (4.70 GHz with Turbo Boost, 14 Cores, 20 Threads, 24 MB Cache)
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 8GB
16 GB DDR5 4800MHz (2 x 8 GB)
2 TB PCIe SSD Gen 4 (2 x 1 TB)
16.0" WQXGA (2560 x 1600) IPS, anti-glare with Dolby Vision, NVIDIA G-SYNC, HDR 400, 500 nits, 165Hz
4-zone RGB keyboard
Lots of ports including Thunderbolt 4

Price: $3209.99
Code: LEGIONINTEL20
Id.ME 5% off
As low as $2388.23+tax
Rakuten Cashback: $358.23
Lenovo Rewards (3% and make sure you enable it in your profile) = $77
Total Cost (in Ontario) = $2340.47 (-$77 in rewards to use later so realistically $2263.47)

Enjoy a fantastic gaming laptop at a finally reasonable price!

Make sure to use Rakuten as it is 15% today (cannot use referral code as it is apparently against the rules; heaven forbid you get someone nice enough to use it)

i am very tempted to buy another legion laptop, but my Y540, as soon i play something, even its not graphically heavy, it make turbo jet engine noice that prevent my wife to watch the tv.

i have to isolate the laptop into a closed room.

anyone experiencing the same situation? is this laptop will be quieter?

Haha in case you're not joking, Id.ME is a discount for teachers/responders/healthcare and they verify their profession through Id.ME.

I have Legion Y540, 5 and 7 but not this. Lastest one is 7 from xmas. They all make similar high pitch noise at 100% fan speed. Annoying as hell but set of ear phones helps, but can't say the same for the people in the same room.

One way to delay fan on the Y540 to come on is to force throttle your Intel CPU so that instead of running at turbo or 4.6ghz on i7-9750h and thus chance for 100% fan is likely, is to disable turbo or reduce turbo steps to 2.6ghz at 6 core, 2.7 for 5, 2.8 for 4, 2.9 for 4, 3.0 for 3, 3.1 for 2, 3.2 for 1 using program like throttle stop. This way, your Y540 will run at under 60C and well under 100% fan instead of 80C 100% fan. This works well for less graphical gaming and mostly CPU intense work. For heavy GPU intense gaming, anything you do won't matter as GPU temp will spike to 80C and you will have 100% fan speed.

Is there a comparable deal for a desktop PC? (most likely cheaper at the end)

Or better yet, I hear the 5000 series from NVidia will blow the 4000 out of the water!

I have the Legion 5i with i5, 16GB, 512GBSSD, 3070 (Not Ti) (2021 model) (For $1600) and it is very quiet even playing Halo Infinite at 1080. No real noise at all from the fans
