[Lenovo Canada] Lenovo Legion 7 (finally available) starting at $2339.49 (-12% Rakuten)

So this is the one that many have been waiting for. Unlike the Legion 5 Pro, many discounts are applicable including EXTRAFIVE for an additional 5% off and the standard 5-7% military/student/teacher discount.
It's quite impressive in terms of reviews even in base configuration and runs cool. Remember that you can only get it with the 5800H unless you want to go for the 3080 in which case it jumps up to the 5900HX but a ridiculous price ($4.5k) while the 3070 is a $310 option which is much better. Make sure you select the Legion Ultimate Support for $0.01.

With the 3070 option total is $2364.25 in Ontario, while the 3060 is $2087.62. This is with the 12% Rakuten which ends tonight so obviously the price will go up tonight.

I'm still on the fence. Love my Legion 7i and have ordered the Alienware M15 R5 with 3070. That total was $1919 after taxes and Rakuten. This one with 3070 will DEFINITELY perform better, but is it worth $450 more? That's the issue that I am running into... Decisions, decisions... Anyway, hope you all enjoy!

Thing that sucks is the "Ships in 4+ months" part... is that for real?

Also, for folks who want that "Legion Ultimate Support" for 1 year, it's only a penny (i.e. tech show up onsite instead of you having to send the laptop in for repairs.

12% Rakuten basically means "NO TAX" :)

If you are a heavy gamer like me, forget about this crap. Never again in my life will buy Lenovo gaming laptops. I have this piece of crap for $2300 laying down like a brick now. Overheating, GPU burns out fast...lots of problems

Currently typing this on the m15 r5 3070, & it's going back, ordered the L5p w/ 3060 instead.
As much as I want to like this m15, it has too many issues. Just to name a few:

m15 Cons:
- GPU drivers aren't recognized causing brightness control to not work
- GPU low power mode that requires restart to turn back on
- Alienware cmd center not working, 100C CPU on like 20% load
- Throttling when it reaches 100C, which only takes about 2 seconds on load, fans never goes to 100% & manual fan control in cmd center don't work. I'd post a screenshot but cmd center is no longer working after windows reset; Fans also has a weird delay & doesn't spin up immediately like other laptops I own/owned
- Dell support

m15 Pros:
- Keyboard (non-mech)/touchpad is solid
- Screen is amazing when brightness control is working, not overly matte like many others
- CPU still plenty fast & works great w/ turbo disabled
- Full metal built quality is decent
- Price

I wouldn't recommend the m15 for anyone who is not Techsavvy or for Power users like myself. There are too many issues to nitpick about, for anyone else in between who just wants the best price/performance, then the m15 is for you.

Paying $2k for what is supposed to be a 'premium' product while getting the standard Dell bullshit treatment is a big no for me. This m15 had under 6 hrs of use when all the issues above started; I wouldn't mind troubleshooting & fixing these problems myself for a laptop half the price (G15), but for something 'premium' I'm not reinstalling windows having used it for less than 6 hrs, & the standard Dell respond of (quote) "Unfortunately, we do not have the technical expertise to assist you with this concern." (/quote) just makes me laugh. Imagine if my clients ask me for help & my reply is "I can't help you." lol. I get paid to troubleshoot problems for clients, I will not pay for extra problems & then you ask them why & they say FU. Well, you can have your shit back Dell. The G15se I had before this way equally shitty, it couldn't make it thru the hour w/out crashing.

I have my T14 (4750u) sitting next to this m15, & a TUF A15 next to that, both of which i prefer over this m15 (because they work). Internet loves to shit on the Asus TUFs (4800h, rtx2060) for being all around bad, but imo for the price (CAD$1k), its way btr than anything else you can get w/out importing from the states.

Okay... I've never had any problems and I've upgraded multiple times from the Y740 to a couple variants of the 7i. Never a problem and when there was, warranty covered all those issues.

lucky you, are you a heavy gamer? or just use it for gaming occasionally? I have Y540-17irh, unfortunately, once my warranty ended (1 year) it stopped working. GPU burned out, Lenovo support was like, oh out of warranty, then we don't care, go to a local repair shop and fix it there. Even I wanted to pay for fixing...

Ya I figured there would be issues with heating since their toothpaste they use is terrible but I've always had to repaste my laptops (including many Alienware before). Fingers crossed it is okay in other respects.

Anyone know when the Lenovo desktops with RTX 30 series are coming out? Not interested in a laptop since I already have an XPS 15 with a 1050 Ti and have both next gen consoles.

YMMV. In principle Rakuten is not supposed to stack with Perkopolis.

Some posts reporting it works, some posts reporting it does not work.

Managed to grab the 3070 5 pro with around 2350 tax incl after Rakuten and haggling.

What do you guys think should I order the Legion 7 3070 And just wait until it arrives and sell the 5 pro?

They're pretty much the same less cosmetics. Thoughts?

I wouldn't risk it. I bought a Lenovo UW monitor last year and Rakuten reached out saying I can't get any cashback since Perkopolis was used.

In this case, price via Perkopolis is $250 lower. It might worthwhile to take the risk.

For 3070, 1 TB model ,

Price is $2,822.59(after tax) with EPP(and no cashback) and price is $2,628.56 (after tax) with cashback, $194.04 is difference if cashback fails via EPP, so this is also significant.
While getting cashback via EPP does give best price of $2,522.85 , which is only $105.71 less than regular price with 12% cashback.

It depends on the configurations. For the base configurations, Perkopolis price is $250 lower. $250 is quite close to 12% cashback.
