[Lenovo Canada] Lenovo ThinkCentre M75q Tiny Gen 2 / AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 4750GE/ Win10 / 4GB / 500GB HDD / $570

This deal can be very hot to some. This is not a gaming PC but rather a very powerful office desktop in a tiny 1-liter chassis. You get a barebone unit, you will need to upgrade RAM and storage yourself as it's much cheaper. Many are reporting very good experience with the 1st generation of this model, noting how quiet it runs. You have two display ports and one HDMI. You can connect up to three monitors. Forget about upgrading GPU on this one but you get a very good iGPU with Ryzen 7.

Lenovo Perkopolis dropped the price on this model to a new record level where you can get the Ryzen 5 4650GE/16GB DDR4-3200/512GB NVME for only $704.

I was debating whether I should get the Perkopolis deal but I was able to get even better value with a Ryzen 7 4750GE configuration through the Lenovo retail website with their current THINKDESK45 promotion, 5% additional discount from sales rep and 10% CB from Rakuten which will net you around $570. Ship dates for these units are around Mid-February.

**You need to create or have a Lenovo account to get this deal**

Go to the customizer and select following options:
  • Ryzen 7 4750GE
  • Wifi 6 Adapter
  • Remove Keyboard
  • Remove Mouse
Your price should be $858 before adding to the cart. Next add to cart and apply coupon THINKDESK45 and your price will be down to $667.70. Now you need to take note of your cart ID and save the cart under your chosen name.

Now open a chat with Lenovo sales, the chat can be accessed from right-bottom. Give the Cart ID/Name to the agent and ask to convert the cart into a quote with an additional 5%. You could mention 5% perk discount or just say you always get 5% through agents when converting your carts to quotes. I was able to reproduce this discount with two different agents.

The agent will send you a quote by email and you should also see it under My Account -> My Saved Quotes. The price on the quote should be $634.32. Now click on Lenovo Rakuten link for a 10% CB and convert your quote to an order which will giver you another $63.42 discount for a ≈ $570 total.

You can easily get a 16GB DDR4 3200 stick and 512GB NVMe for $150 and this machine would have costed you $720 and still have a 500GB HDD and 4GB RAM for whatever they are worth. Much better than the Perkopolis Ryzen 5 ($704) or Ryzen 7 ($881) deals. ^

***10% CB from Rakuten is only valid today***

EDIT: Rakuten CB is now 9%. If you have trouble getting the 5% from Lenovo rep, PM me I’ll send you contacts of the one I dealt with

Thanks for the write up!

Had a question: is there a specific reason why you included the wifi?

A lot of work and time it seems. Maybe just wait for zen 3 ships, this may go lower further

It will cost you roughly the same if buying it yourself with the card, antenna etc

Not really convinced, supply chains are messed up with covid and no sight of improving, Lenovo still sells the Gen 1 of this model with R5 3400 and it isn't any cheaper...

If you are interested in the 4750, may as well get the non Tiny version which has the actual 4750G instead of the low power GE. It would be around $720 after coupon, but before the 5% and ebates with the same 4GB RAM and 500GB HDD.

Any confirmation that this is the case with Gen 2 also?
Is the fan noise closer to a laptop or a normal desktop?

Just tried two agent, said they cannot do it.

"This cart was created on the public site and we are not able to create a quote for another site than the one it was created"

Wallet safe I guess, my 2500K still works...

I don't get it, yes the cart is created on the public site and the quote is generated under the public site (webca). They have some of the most incompetent agents I have ever dealt with.

I got the ryzen 5 gen 2 a few days ago from this deal: lenovo-canada-epp-perkopolis-price-cut- ... e-2423274/

You hear it ramp up when you turn it on and maybe when it's updating windows, but it's really quiet during normal use, especially coming from a intel nuc6i5. I don't really game (among us was fine though) but running a 4k youtube video for a while didn't produce any fan noise whatsoever.

Unfortunately I couldn't get sales rep on chat to reproduce that quote for me either.

That's too bad, was ready to buy right away. Thanks for the post though OP!

Thanks OP. Just what I was looking for. I didn't like the configuration off of Perkopolis as I didn't want any SSD and Memory.

I had to try two agents before I got the 5%. I went with the 4650 as the 4750 was too much for my needs.

Here is what I ordered: 4650GE, 4GB RAM, 500GB HD, WiFi, Additional USB-C via back punch-out, dust shied and no keyboard/mouse. Price was about $547 (with the 5% Lenovo discount). With the Rakuten 10% off, works out to $492.

FYI. Here are the cpu ratings from passmark.

  • APU/Single/Multi
  • 3400GE/2,272/8,184
  • 4350GE/2,579/11,443
  • 4650GE/2,654/16,571
  • 4750GE/2,737/20,377

I'm an owner of the M75q-1 Gen1 with the 3400GE and was quite happy with that. This is a low cost upgrade for about 20% better single core performance and twice the multi-core performance. The Gen 2 chips are still 35W so it should run just as silent as the Gen 1 models. Great deal for sure!

No go with agent - rest of it worked like a charm - difference is about $33 - may still go for it. How reliable is Rakuten? And if a hang-up with Rakuten - can we cancel order with Lenovo?
Thanks Op - Now it comes down to this or the $704 deal.

Edit: Rakuten was very prompt - so all good. Went for he R5 4650

Thanks for this, elideli. I was considering the other Thinkcentre deal yet, so this is an interesting alternative.

Any good deals on memory and SSDs at the moment that justifies this deal over the other one, which already includes 16GB RAM/512GB SSD? Before Rakuten, this one is about a $70 difference. If you are able to get Rakuten added, the difference is $130.

Also how do you access chat from the shopping cart page? I tried disabling my adblocker, but I don't see the chat button. Must be something obvious that I'm overlooking!

What is a back punch out - I need to connect a monitor with a vga port - will they be giving me the vga port if i pay for it - or do I have to do some tech work myself?

The deal I posted is different, this comes with a Ryzen 7 4750GE, significantly more powerful than the Ryzen 5 4650GE. The same unit with 16GB/512GB SSD is priced at $881 on the Perkopolis store, we are talking about $300 difference. Also, you can't get Rakuten on the Perkopolis store. If you want the Ryzen 5 4650Ge, check Hank post above #14, comes out $200 less than the Perkopolis deal.

Try opening private/incognito tab on your browser and access the Lenovo website, you should be able to see the chat.

Thanks Elideli, went with Hank71 deal. Now where can I find the extra Ram and 512 SSD for $150?

Tried to get the agent for the 5% - failed - but had to rush before Rakuten deal expired! So paid a bit more - but still a heck of a deal, I think.
