Thanks OP. Been looking for a work laptop for when I'm on pagerduty. Was originally trying to get a used older T series, but really for similar or slightly more money this is a better deal than any used/refurb I could find. My config was pretty much identical to yours and came to $512 before tax after asking the Lenovo rep (don't have id.me). Fingers crossed for the rakuten 15%.

Nice find. Thanks OP. Too bad that only the 45WHr battery is available. Be sure to go with the aluminum base cover.

thanks OP , needed a laptop mostly for browsing but also for playing an old pc game that doesnt require heavy specs, and i was about to drop 900$ at costco, but this at 614$ after taxes seems pretty good to me!

I use the crucial 3200Mhz 8GB DDR4 ram. Usually available on amazon for about $40-50.

Just a heads up that Rakuten cashback may not apply when using these codes, apparently only the coupon codes listed on the Rakuten website (lenovo store page) are allowed for cb - they may also clawback the cashback 2 weeks after it's issued as reported by another user who made a laptop purchase a long time ago. Also from December 1st onwards apparently id.me discounts will disqualify the purchase from cashback, as per Rakuten rep.

If I was buying probably hedge and buy two of these, second one using the Lenovo aeroplan store to get the 7x to 20x points (or Air Miles Store too), and return the first if you don't get issued cashback.

Great find! Almost bought it, but I just don’t need it enough to justify it. Oh well.

I did test with Perkopolis EPP and it was a few bucks cheaper, but I don’t know if that would work with Rakuten or ID.me. Might be worth trying to stack if you end up going for it.

Technically its not upgradeable to Windows 11 since it already comes with Windows 11 installed.
