[Lenovo Canada] Lenovo Y25-25 240hz 24.5" IPS 1ms Monitor ($378.39)

Hello looks like Lenovos monitor from CES is now listed and says new arrival Lenovo Y25-25 240hz 24.5" IPS 1ms 1080p monitor.

Don't forget about ebates 7% off. Would make it roughly $350+tax for an IPS 240hz monitor. Sounds like a hot deal to me. Much cheaper than alternatives at 240hz.

edit: don't forget 5% coupon and 8% student? bringing it down to $310+tax

So what are people using 240hz monitors for?

csgo, valorant, fortnite, overwatch, apex, + basically anything will run at 240 fps. Some people will still buy 240hz even if they can't do more than 144fps and/or if the tittles they play don't need 240fps.

Gotcha, I figured people playing fast-twitch shooting games would be interested in this, but I was curious to know if there were other use cases or if this is pretty much fully focused on the FPS niche.

How are you guys getting 240+ fps? Top of the line gaming rigs? All settings and textures to lowest they can go?

Not knocking it but it seems like it would be a pretty large investment (monitor + capable rig) for what seems to be a marginal advantage (over 144hz). I'm no esports FPS gamer though.

CSGO and Valorant are easy to go to 240hz I have that fps with 1050 ti.

For call of duty in september with new cards coming it it will be much cheaper to achive

I saw bunch of review video comparing 60 hz 120hz 240 hz in super super slow motion

But other than slow motion, not sure if humans can really feel 240 hz

60hz to 144hz is big jump
144hz to 240hz isn't as big but if you're a good FPS player you can tell the difference especially if you toggle back to 144hz and try it.
Also using the UFO test I can track the ufo much better than on 144hz. It's just clearer?

What 5% coupon? How are you getting the student discount to show up on the EPP site?

I use it to play Overwatch. I literally turn all the settings to low and frame cap myself at 230fps for fps stability and to stay inside gsync range. High refresh monitor makes everything buttery smooth and helps a lot with tracking. When I went back to a 60hz monitor my aim became terrible and I lost more games.

In regards to the monitor mentioned, it is actually very tempting because of the IPS and 240hz features but hard to justify buying when I already own the asus pg258q.
