[Lenovo Canada] Lenovo Y27q-20 $491.04 b4 taxes after all discounts YMMV

Just ordered a Lenovo monitor, the Y27q-20. It's the IPS model often compared to the LG 27GL850 and HP Omen. They each use the nano-IPS panel. It's currently on sale for $574.20 but was able to use the ID.me 8% academic discount bringing it down to $528.26 so YMMV. Rakuten is 7% today for another $37 back. Net before taxes is around $491. I think that's a decent deal during the current state of COVID inflated pricing. My son bought the LG at a short lived price of $450 months ago but it's currently hundreds more. The apparently very nice LG 27GL83A can be had for just over $460 but I wanted the USB hub plus the Lenovo has a 3 year warranty (plus the one using my CC) for peace of mind. My purposes are 80% work (dual monitor setup) related but decided to take the plunge into a gaming monitor. If the quality imitates my son's LG, I'll be happy.

The math: 574.20 - 8% (528.26) - 7% = $491.28. Taxes and fees ($4 here) extra of course.

Hmm, at this price I should cancel my order of the LG. Better panel and warranty, though less configuration options and very basic OSD from what I read.

However, ID.me can't verify me, so it's $534 for me assuming rakuten doesn't screw up.

Maybe I shall wait until the price goes down further. Seems it was on sale for less before.

It doesn't even say what resolution this monitor is, in the title or it's specs on the webpage. I had to look it up elsewhere to find out it's 2560 x 1440. hehe

Yeah Lenovo doesnt market this monitor very well, they also have a TN panel version with one letter difference in the name, and they didn't advertise it being Gsync compatible lol

Got this at 593 - 65 on Rakuten = 528 two months ago.

Be warned that on some graphics cards, it black screens, here's the fix: https://motherbear.home.blog/2019/12/10 ... creen-fix/

Honestly, I like the headphone holder a whole lot and it's like the thing I like the most.
