----------
Here is how

First go to Rakuten (Ebates) website. Lenovo is 9%
Now go to Lenovo link through Rakuten website and go to Gaming PC deals
One of the deal is for the above laptop with GTX 1660 ti card for original price 1489.99 (after discount price $ 1258.99)
Choose that laptop then customize it to change graphics card to RTX 2060
Then add to cart; in cart you are allowed to change the coupon
The default coupon is CYBER5LEGION; change it to SAVE30
Now the price before tax will be $ 1,119; Minus Rakuten 9% or $ 101 cash back = $ 1018 roughly + taxes

Is this hotter than the $899 y540 deal at Microsoft store?

Only if you need a 2060.

I tried upgrading to 9750H 2060 16GB 144hz screen. It ends up with around 1392$, not bad.

Good find OP! You can get the original config you quoted (with RTX 2060 and i5) down to $1,012.82 using Lenovo SMB Pro after rebate.

If you use the Lenovo SMB Pro site via Rakuten you can get an even better deal with the same 9% cashback. Here's a pretty great config with i7-9750H, RTX 2060, 144Hz screen and Windows 10 Pro for $1,294.99 - $116.55 Rakuten = $1,178.44 + tax using SAVE30. I'd recommend purchasing the 8GB memory and 256GB SSD config as you'll want to user upgrade these components for cheaper and better quality than Lenovo can provide for.
*Note: when you configure, Windows 10 Pro is a $0 upgrade

Processor : Intel Core i7-9750H (2.60GHz, up to 4.50GHz with Turbo Boost, 6 cores, 12MB Cache)

They don't verify company info so you can use anything you'd like, such as "Umlowcn Ltd", etc

Well, that and the 144Hz screen which the Microsoft 1650 unit didn't have (it was 60Hz). I think this config with i7, 2060, 144Hz and Win Pro for $1,179 is the deal of this BF/CM season for a good gaming setup.

Are you familiar with Y740 vs Y540? Is it worth spending extra for the premium Y740?

The y740 configured near the same as above with i7 and 2060 (no Win Pro or HDD) would run: $1,564.49 - $140.80 Rakuten = $1,423.69 + tax, a premium of $245.25 above the y540. For that extra you're getting a better screen, per-key RGB keyboard and much better build quality.

I've never physically used the y540 before but I have used the y740. It's has a very nice build and feels more solid and premium compared to some of my other more plastic gaming laptops (I'm partial to Eurocom/Sabre and currently own one as my main gaming laptop with an i7, 2070 and 144Hz display). The 500 nits HDR/DV display is a big upgrade over the y540's somewhat dim 300 nits display. If I were to step up to the y740, I'd configure it the same way with an i7 and 2070 8GB as well as its 144Hz G-Sync display to future proof it as much as possible. Using the SAVE30 that'd run $1,770.99 - $159.40 Rakuten = $1,611.59 + tax.. A very good deal for a near top of the spec gaming laptop (user upgraded memory and NVMe SSD of course):

Processor : Intel Core i7-9750H (2.60GHz, up to 4.50GHz with Turbo Boost, 6 Cores, 12MB Cache)

Graphic Card : NVIDIA® GeForce® RTX™ 2070 with Max-Q 8 GB
Color : Black
Surface Treatment : Anodizing
Camera : 720p HD camera with microphone
Keyboard : Backlit RGB Keyboard - US English
Chipset : HM370
Fingerprint : No Fingerprint Reader
Palmrest : Metal
Battery : 3 Cell Li-Polymer, 57Wh
Power Adapter : 230W AC Adapter

OP or anyone, do we know when the SAVE30 code expires? There’s a prebuilt Y540 there (1660ti though) that says price will drop $300 at 3pm today. I’m assuming SAVE30 is the best code today. May not be able to use this code if another is applied for to drop the price $300 though.

Thanks. Is it 2070 Max-Q is not much difference than 2060? It costs $300 more.
