Although it is on their Cdn site, mine was shipped from the US. The first attempt was turned back before it even reached the border. Had to contact them for a reship. So it took more than a month to get mine.

If this was the version with the Google Assistant I would be jumping on it. Anyone know if you can buy this one and make it behave like the one with the google assistant? My understanding is that they both use the same tablet, just the dock is different.

The spec is great on this tablet except for Widevine L3 support; which means this tablet will only play NetFlix SD contents. The only Lenovo tablets that support L1 for HD NetFlix contents are the new Tab P11 and Tab P11 PRO. If you don't plan for NetFlix content; otherwise, stay away. I'm not sure if this tablet will support HD content from Prime Video. Does anyone know?

I think I looked it up before and it's not possible.

Every android tablet has Google assistant.
So this version works with both Alexa and GA.

Can you get the dock to work with GA? Or just the Tablet itself?
Cheers!

I found this https://www.gearbrain.com/lenovo-smart- ... %20display.

"Without an Alexa account, you're going to end up using this tablet as a Google Assistant device. And that's fine. In fact, to bring up Google's voice assistant you don't even have to sign in at all. And actually, you can sign into the Amazon Alexa app on the tablet and speak to Alexa that way too. But that's not going to link the Smart Tab to the dock and let the display go into Alexa Show mode."

That is the code I had to use to get it to 179.99. Is there another code?

It says you can only enter 1 code on checkout.

We bought a different model last summer. The dock won't work as a speaker or mic without Alexa. I removed Alexa for privacy reasons.

I recently bought a Yoga 10" for $200ish on ebay, seller Lenovo itself. Delivery this week. We'll see if that's a much better unit.

How is this compared to the Fire HD10? I know the HD10 can be had for $160? But is Amazon based. Is the Lenovo an actual better unit in terms of quality and specs?

Have not used either. This has an extra 0.2inch of screen BUT an extra 2gb of RAM and an extra 32gb of storage (base hd10 has 32gb I think, vs 64gb here).
Both powered by Mediatek, this has a dock included with it.

Tablet itself with GA, not Alexa dock.
But the GA version's dock is charging only without speakers.

The GA version has GA Ambient mode, similar to the Nest Hub UI. Very few tablets have GA ambient mode.
