[Lenovo Canada] ThinkBook 13s, Ryzen 7 4800U, 16:10 display, 16GB RAM, 512G SSD, $868

https://www.lenovo.com/ca/en/perkopolis ... XTBXTSA300

Passcode: Perkpolis#21

ThinkBook 13s Gen 2 (13”) AMD
Part Number: 20WC000AUS

Processor: AMD Ryzen™ 7 4800U Processor (1.80 GHz, up to 4.20 GHz Max Boost, 8 Cores, 16 Threads, 8 MB Cache)
Operating System: Windows 10 Pro 64
Display Type: 13.3" WUXGA (1920 x 1200) IPS, anti-glare with Dolby Vision™ 300 nits
Memory: 16 GB LPDDR4X 4267MHz (Soldered)
Hard Drive: 512 GB PCIe SSD

March 1: Price drops by about $100 to $868. After the price drop, the laptop is in and out of stock throughout the day.

March 2: Out of stock for now. Status is "Temporarily Unavailable".

March 3: Removed OOS from post title. As reported by fudge_u in Post#55 and yudangorgor in Post#66, it appears Lenovo is releasing more stock of this model in small batches, and it tends to sell out quickly. If you really want this model, you may check whether it is in stock in early morning.

March 22: It appears the 4800u model has been out of stock since March 2; unclear when it can be back in stock. The 4600U model is in stock but note its 8GB RAM is non-upgradable.

Yes. So Lenovo increase the price by $100. Probably will not went OOS as quickly as last time.

Previous price was a hot deal. I'd say this price is alright.

you can also look into the base model Macbook Air refurb for 1099$. It can do anything this laptop can (if you don't absolutely need Windows) and will have a better resale value after 3-4 years.

Certainly not as good deal as last time. But last time it went OOS in a few hours.

4800u is quite rare and its performance is quite good. For people want this laptop, $964 is not a bad deal IMO.

Typing this from the 13s that I got for $860 last time it was on sale. I'd say, $950 is still a decent deal, especially if you can get Rakuten on top of it. Great CPU, good screen (16:10!), great build quality. You can't go wrong with this laptop.

Quick question for you, is the chassis aluminum/metal or is a combination of plastic/metal?

Rakuten is 5% today, may or may not stack with Perkopolis. If the price drops within one month, I think Lenovo provides price protection.

This laptop was posted in RFD a few times and it seems a lot of people are interested. Post this because it is back in stock, though price is not as attractive.

All aluminum and quite solid. I also have the Inspiron 5505, and the Thinkpad chassis is much more sturdy, no flex anywhere.

I was able to get Rakuten last time with Perkopolis using the Rakuten extension in Firefox. YMMV of course...

Ordered one. Needed a replacement for a 7 year old Acer. Looks like Rakuten worked. Thank you!
