3 Cell Li-Ion 45Wh

..and don't let the "Think" label fool you...it's far from a ThinkPad.

Would really appreciate the advice

Its harder to advice without knowing what you would value more.
Technically (for the price) speaking, this is good choice compared to Dell. How ever, Dell XPS is their high quality product.
Also you dont need to upgrade memory later on Lenovo, but you need to upgrade memory on Dell. Not sure memory upgrade is possible on Dell.

I''ll but this Lenovo over the XPS you posted.

Yeah but in this case is super easy: half the memory, half the SSD, half the CPU cores... So its no briainer.

Rakuten doesn't work with Perkopolis.

Dang the thinkbook is almost my ideal laptop, but doesn't seem to have pen support. Its impossible to tell if the touchscreen has a digitizer, but I'll assume all non yoga's don't.

This has USB-C power delivery
Use a PD power bank if need more time away from a power socket

Dongle life? Cables and stuff...? ...that's the justification for a 45Wh battery?

Any additional discounts possible? I know this is already a great deal. But anything to sweeten it further?

I didn’t bite the bullet yesterday’s deal on Dell. But this one is too tempting. With only a spare Mac air from 2012 , I pretty much use my work laptop for all browsing etc. But I feel I need a home workstation for all applications that I cannot install on my work computer.

Quick Look at ThinkBook 15 Generation 2 Laptop

Summary
- i7 11th Gen CPU -- Close to Ryzen 4500U CPU Performance (Intels beats GPU)
- IPS 300 nit screen is a plus.
- Soldered and Removeable RAM (Up to 40GB RAM) -- Dual Channel Max = 16GB
- AX WiFi 6 (Intel AX200NGW? Unknown)
- USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C (USB/DP/PD) -- 4K60 Support
- USB 4 / Thunderbolt™ 4 -- High Speed Interface @ 40 Gbit/s or 5GB/s

$926 CAD (i7) / $845 CAD (i5)

Overall respectable. I still think the Dell Inspiron 5505 wins value-for-money** for general purpose users and certain power users, but every subcategory of user is different.

USB 4 will be fantastic for photo and video editors when it's properly adopted by vendors, the prospect of this laptop doing photo and video editing opens up with an eGPU. Lookout for eGPU USB 4 / TB 4 enclosure options, this might be the biggest takeaway for desktop replacement folks.

Who should consider this laptop?
(1) Intel fans
(2) IPS 300nit screen fans
(3) Assuming eGPU TB 4 enclosures roll out:
=> (a) Photo and video editors
=> (b) Gamers
(4) Desktop replacers

Cost effectiveness starts to wane when you're considering laptop + eGPU systems, but this laptop reveals options in that direction.

** Dell's Inspiron 5505 Ryzen 4500U = $679.99 - (10% Unidays & 2% Rakuten) = $599.75
