How does this compare to the Thinkpad t series? Is it better than the thinkbooks?

There is a costco gaming ultra book at visions for 1500. Does Lenovo has something similar?

From Lenovo's website: (E series is) The perfect balance between, power, portability and price.

If only it didn't have the red dot and ugly trackpad.

Had the Lenovo E570 and it was easily my favourite laptop so far. I'm currently using a 2k lenovo yoga 730 which is crap in comparison.

Does anyone have any experience with their Hybrid Infrared (IR) & HD 720p with ThinkShutter optional addon? Is it worth the $52 upgrade ?

Better than the ThinkBook, worse than the T series (build wise). It's a tarted up Ideapad with 80% of the build quality of a traditional ThinkPad. I used an E430 for over 4 years and it has been rock solid. I still have it as a backup/spare laptop and it's still lasts around 4 hours on it's original battery!

Really, always liked the old ibm look. But personal preference I guess.

The IR cam is used for Windows Hello face recognition, if that feature is worth $52 to you then go for it, otherwise stick with the regular camera.

I feel like the 999.99 flex 5 from Costco is a better deal than this. And you can get the warranty from Costco 100 extra.

Both offers are competitive. There are only a few minor differences that would affect my user experience. I ultimately chose the Lenovo deal along with the Education and Rakuten promo.

Is it possible to upgrade Ram on the Ryzen 4700u model? It sems so since the others have an extra Dimm, and specs say up to 32gb, but just wanted to check if corresct.

You know, this didn't occur to me and I might actually change my order if it's possible. Can anyone else confirm?

I loved the red numb back in the day. But I feel like it is outdated and probably not as useful as a nice big trackpad. Having physical buttons on the trackpad these days reduces the actual area of the trackpad.

I can ignore the weird red dot but tbh the trackpad is the one thing I don't like about this machine. I am coming from a 12" Macbook and I know this IBM trackpad will be a downgrade for me personally. I'm willing to get it anyways because I've just ordered a Nintendo switch lite with the money I "saved" by not buying a new Mac.

Picked up the Ryzen 5 4500U E15 from Memory Express for $950 last week. Great machine so far. Screen feels brighter than other 250 nit screens I have looked at. Fans pretty much don't come on at all under light to moderate use (passive cooling mode under battery settings).

Here's what I purchased: https://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX00113042

I’m very much debating between this E series 15 inc vs the T590 15 inch

This needs to last me 5 years of part time online studies so just for office, PDF, PowerPoint, videos
It will be travelled between home and work shifts so I need touch but not a 20 inch thick tank

If I order both and decide to keep one... what’s the return policy like?

Thanks
