[Lenovo Canada] Thinkpad L13 Gen2 Yoga WinPro 11th Gen i7/16GB/512GB 994.50

Pretty good specs for a sub $1000 Thinkpad. Shame about the 3-4 week wait.

If you have no use for the 2n1, is this still a buy buy buy?

16gb memory and 512gb ssd are must haves but don't really need the whole flip around screen thing.

I would think so. I consider 2 in 1 is a bonus at this price point.

Wondered, is ethernet port is obsolete in laptops?

If memory wasn't soldered it would have been a good move.

I ordered the touchscreen Thinkbook (evo) 13s Gen 2 that went on sale last week. This has 2-in-1, extra type-C port, SD card reader, and is cheaper. The Thinkbook has a better screen, significantly better battery life (56wh vs 46wh), faster ram, and is lighter/thinner.

The 2-in-1 and supposedly superior ThinkPad build quality is appealing, decisions, decisions...

But not on new models, only through Thunderbolt or usb adapter. Too bad.

The reason is that WiFi speeds are catching up to ethernet speeds, especially with Wi-Fi 6. There's less and less needs for an ethernet port.

Speed isn’t everything, reliability is important and wired is king in that respect.

Can't risk the 3-4 weeks plus 3-8 days shipping time :( I need a laptop by 1st week of February.

Should the title be 16gb instead of 16mb?

spec is good, heard the 11th gen processors are way better. We shall see.
As for the asthethics goes, you will learn to want more from the dim-litted 1080 screen and thick bezel, but you get what you paid for.

Also, the L series has always been good with expension slot. I own a L380 and I have 2 ram slot and 1 m.2 slot.
Somehow this L13 is a step backward. Something worth considering if you do not have a high turnover rate on electronics.

maybe a foolish question as I am not as techie as you all.

I like to know how you all remove bloatware (please kindly advise the steps), and if IBM thinkbook 14" or similar has lot of bloatware. thanks a lot.
