NO one should buy the cheaper model.
720p TN low brightness screen + 4cores + 128gb ssd + soldered 8gb ram...

300$ gets you a massive upgrade.

Sadly no standard ethernet but it does have ethernet but needs Lenovo's adapter. https://www.lenovo.com/ca/en/accessorie ... WPEALw_wcB

There's only one reason you'd really get this though, is if it's required that you have a static MAC address specific to your device. Like for enterprise security, etc. Otherwise, any USB-C adapter with gigabit ethernet would do just fine.

It's a laptop....

It's the age of wireless... Wifi6 now

There are adapters if you have a work station where you need it.

Agreed on getting the maxed out 1K model, otherwise stuck with soldered RAM and shit display - those 1366x768 TN screens are criminally bad. Nobody should be subject to using one on a modern laptop!

I highly recommend pairing it with a USB C dock, I got the 40AS for my P14s and it's so nice to just have a one cable solution.

Again, business usage. Unfortunately most of us have no control over the quality of the wireless infrastructure at work, Ethernet is bulletproof.

What is Perkopolis? And why do they allow so many people get away with using their code? Just wondering. bTW, seems to be better deals like the P14s with a 400nits screen, AMD Ryzen 7 Pro, 8gb upgradable for $1203. Tempting but 1. Just bought a X1 Yoga a few months ago (had issues with the hardware tests), and 2. really want to build another desktop instead of using this as a substitute (prices and availability is the issue there).

The cheaper one is Build Your Own. Anyone choose this should change the configurations as required.

FWI the privacy guard screen is often described as total junk.

The x13 gen 2 seems significantly better than the gen 1, it's got a new chassis, bigger battery and a 16:10 screen with 1600p option. The ram is also better. Only available as Intel for now, I hope the amd will also be cheaper when it comes out.

It is non-touch. It is the last one of the four X13 display options:
13.3" HD(1366x768) TN Anti-Glare 250nits Non-Touch Narrow Bezel 45%NTSC
13.3" FHD(1920x1080) IPS Anti-Glare 300nits Non-Touch Narrow Bezel 72%NTSC
13.3" FHD(1920x1080) IPS Anti-Glare 300nits Touch Narrow Bezel 72%NTSC
13.3" FHD(1920x1080) IPS Anti-Glare 500nits Non-Touch Narrow Bezel 72%NTSC ePrivacy Filter

Reviews of the 500 nits display is mixed due to the Privacy Guard filter. The 300 nits display could be better.

Yeah. But looking at the price of T14 Gen 2 AMD, price of X13 AMD Gen 2 probably will be ridiculous too. Not sure when the price can come down to a reasonable level.

It's always like that for new products. Lenovo pricing is all over the place at first. I remember it being the same when x13 was released with the amd one being more expensive. Just a few weeks later it was cheaper than the Intel one and it remained like that.

Personally I'd wait for the "good screen" 1600p option to be available and I would get that, Intel or AMD doesn't matter much to me at this point.

X13 Gen 2 Intel is already available and price is not bad.

i5/16GB/512GB/13.3" WUXGA (1920 x 1200) 300 nits/720p HD for $1,355
i5/16GB/512GB/13.3" WUXGA (1920 x 1200) touchscreen 300 nits/IR & 1080p HD for $1,390

Notebook check just came out with their review of the x13 gen 2, looks like they're finding the 1080p screen to be kind of dim and they recommend the 1600p screen since there's no battery disadvantage compared to the 1080p one.

So do you mean the cheaper display
13.3" FHD(1920x1080) IPS Anti-Glare 300nits Non-Touch Narrow Bezel 72%NTSC
is better than the
13.3" FHD(1920x1080) IPS Anti-Glare 500nits Non-Touch Narrow Bezel 72%NTSC ePrivacy Filter?
or that they both are bad?

The base model plus the upgrade to the cheaper FHD display comes out to $822.80

Seems decent?

Holding out for a 14" Yoga or ThinkPad with a 4k display
