Lenovo Chromebook Duet 2 in 1, 128 GB, US Keyboard, Pen included, $276 after code PICKLENOVO15

https://www.ebay.ca/itm/333960990666

Part Number: ZA6F0075US

Note:
1. The item is on sell at Lenovo's official ebay store. Free shipping and returns. No customs or duties.
2. The listing shows only a few are available. But obviously Lenovo is keep restocking it.
3. The listing does not mention pen is included, but it has been confirmed pen is included.

Specs:
  • Operating System: Chrome OS
  • Processor: MediaTek™ Helio P60T Processor (2.00 GHz, 8 Cores, 8 Threads)
  • Display Type: 10.1" FHD (1920 x 1200) IPS, touchscreen, 400 nits
  • Memory: 4 GB LPDDR4x (Soldered)
  • Hard Drive: 128 GB eMMC
  • Graphics: Integrated ARM G72 MP3 Graphics
  • Bluetooth: Bluetooth® 4.2
  • Camera: Front: 2 MP Fixed focus; Rear: 8 MP Auto focus
  • Pen: Lenovo USI stylus with AAAA battery
  • Keyboard: Detachable wireless folio - US English
  • Wireless : 802.11AC (2 x 2)

Compared with the Bestby deal, this one has two advantages:
1. USI pen is included. The pen is selling for $30+.
2. Keyboard is US. Since the keyboard is quite small, US keyboard is much preferred than bilingual one for most people.

Edit: The item has been removed from Lenovo Canada website, but it is still available at Lenovo official eBay store. Updated link.

This chromebook got incredible reviews when it came out last year. Like gushing reviews about performance for price, tablet form...

I think this is the lowest price point. Previous low was $300 at BestBuy but no stylus and billingual keyboard.

Compared to similarly priced tablets/2-in-1s, this is very hard to beat.

Does the pass that OP provided mean that we don't need a Perko account? Do they check your workplace and whatnot?

Edited the OP to add specs and also a comparison with the Bestbuy deal.

This is best deal for the Chrombook Duet so far since it has US keyboard and the USI pen is included.

Lenovo sells two USI pens:
https://www.lenovo.com/ca/en/perkopolis ... 4X80Z49662
https://www.lenovo.com/ca/en/perkopolis ... GX81B10212

The first is slightly more expensive ($36 vs $31). Not sure which one is included in this combo and what are their differences.

They are not supposed to stack, but I see many posts reporting it works anyway. It doesn't hurt to try. YMMV.

The $31 is the newer one (less reviews). The old one had some leakage issues.

Specs wise they're almost identical with 2g weight difference from what I gathered.

Thanks OP! Been waiting for a great deal on this one for my wife to work from home on. Anyone have any experience with getting HDMI set up for a second monitor?

Thanks, OP. I was on sideline for long time on this, but I needed to replace my aging Android tablet. This would be good to have as replacement portable computer.

And best of all, the performance hasn't nor will it change from day 1. Unlike other OS's (cough cough...Win somtin or rather), there's no bloatware, adware, spyware or whatever @$%#ware/ruses to lump up the system so you have to beg/pay others to clean it up or better yet (for mfgrs), upgrade to a newest/latest. For chromebooks/tabs, there's no factual need to upgrade til product failure, AUE or unless one wants to.

AUE ie.end of life isn't til mid 2028 so we have 7yrs of consistent 1-2x monthly OS updates. Since chromeOS takes about 7-8gbs storage (lets call it an even 10gb), we're gonna have way >100gb for 'droid apps & games galore.

The only way this rig will seem slow is if one compares to higher spec hardware but performance will not change from birth til death. Infact its anecdotally speculated that performance increase with subsequent OS updates.

This Duet version, with incl pen & 128gb storage, is the best deal ever so far.

Is there any way to avoid paying GST and PST on this? I remember ordering a Lenovo tablet previously and there was no tax on it. This time it's coming out to $340+ after taxes

The Duet has only one USB-C port. The USB-C port of the Duet is supposed to support FHD at 30Hz. However, most monitors simply don't support the configuration of FHD at 30Hz.

To connect to an external monitor and achieve FHD and 60Hz, you will need a a DisplayLink adapter for most monitors. See link below:
https://chromeunboxed.com/lenovo-chrome ... productive

The following DisplayLink adapter is mentioned in a thread on Lenovo Forum. It's selling for $50 (very expensive IMO).
https://www.amazon.ca/CableCreation-Dis ... B07DWXWW63

Most Chromebooks can support external monitor adequately. The Duet is an exception. It does not have necessary hardware, specially "Analogix ANX7625 MIPI-DSI/DPI to USB Type-C™ Bridge (Port Controller with MUX)". See link below:

I don't understand the point of buying Chromebooks (with all of its limitations) when you can get something that runs Windows for about the same price...
