I wonder in which universe would someone believe you're saving $3,014 on the second laptop?

Also, is anyone else getting pop up ads from using this website on mobile? It's taking me to a Facebook like page with a spinning wheel.

What's up with Lenovo and all these super inflated MSRPs?
Not buying something on sale ISN'T a crime, buying something not on sale IS.

I agree with you, $3xxx saving does not sound realistic, but this is what Lenovo's own website say. I believe they are comparing to the original MSRP price which is always above market price.

IMHO, they're not comparable. Two different personal devices that everyone needs nowadays. So it depends on which one of yours is more obsolete.
As a reference, Thinkpads last an average of 5 years, iPhones last an average of 3 years.

Terrible pricing from Lenovo. That T460 should be around $500 for a 14 inch 1080 screen with a 6th gen CPU.

It's still a brand new T-series. The best laptop ever IMHO (and others)
14" is also the perfect size IMHO, and If you're not using it for CAD/gaming then 6th gen i5 is good enough. I have a spare t400 with core 2 duo with Win 10 and it's still good for document processing (MS office 2016), browsing, front end and C programming (netbeans, Mongoose web server and many more) and camping Smiling Face With Open Mouth , I use another laptop for heavy IDEs though

Thinkpads will not have better specs than a similarly priced laptop from another brand. For $1000, you can probably buy something from Asus or MSI that has a quad core CPU with more ram, more storage and a discrete GPU.

The reason folks buy thinkpads is for the build quality and keyboard.
When given enough time, all threads on RFD can and will go off on a tangent.

You cannot beat a Thinkpad for productivity in my opinion... especially if you're mobile.

+1 The durability/build of Thinkpad T series are what set it apart and definitely the keyboard which is very important if you frequently work mobile. Even among Lenovo's other lines the E series and consumer lines are vastly inferior in support and build quality.

Lenovo is great with Thinkpad warranties but horrible on their consumer line.

Ya right lol. The T460S is worth at least 850-900 plus shipping and tax and this has a 3 year warranty.

I love the T460's, but I would not be comfortable spending over $1000 with it's 6gth gen CPU and older SSD, alongside only 8GB RAM. Obviously, Lenovo are trying to get rid of old stock, but this sale price and their disingenuous attempt at showing "savings" over $2000 and $3000 is sad.

Obviously, those looking to buy today can't go back in time, but the fact Lenovo offers 40-50% off their entire line around Black Friday week and you could have bought a T460 with a newer CPU, SSD for not much more than this demonstrates how they need to lower the price here.
