[Lenovo Canada] Lenovo: RFD Exclusive 35% off ThinkPads over $1500 is back! (extended to Sept 5)

August 31 Update: Even better news! The offer is extended until September 5.
----

Good news! If you missed out on it before, RedFlagDeals.com and Lenovo.com Canada once again bring you a RedFlagDeals.com Exclusive discount of 35% off most ThinkPads when you spend $1500 or more. Use coupon code CAPREDFLAGDEALSEXCLUSIVE.

Like before, the coupon is good for 20% off most ThinkPads if you spend under $1500, but if you are anywhere near spending $1220 already, you should pile on upgrades to get to $1500 because you will get about $300 in upgrades and still be paying the same amount.

There are a couple of exceptions for the code: G and U Series ThinkPads get a 5% discount, IdeaPads get 10%, and the ThinkPad Edge gets a 10% discount.

The coupon code is good until 11:59 PM ET on September 5.

Here are some sample configurations:

Does the video on the 2 $1K systems(NVIDIA NVS3100M graphics with 512MB DDR3 Memory) seems kinda weak in comparison to the rest of the system????

Yes, it is a weak offering. Lenovo has not included any ATi offerings in past RFD exclusives. Just remember though, one does not buy Lenovo laptops for gaming.
Pepsi: First a XBox360, then a Samsung 40" LCD HDTV, then a Sony Ericsson W300i, then a Samsung 32" LCD HDTV, then a ...

Coke: What!? This isn't a $2249 Dell Inspiron 6000! It's an entry level $899 laptop! But hey, thanks for the two Nintendo Wii's!

Like the others said, the Thinkpads aren't meant for gaming. Perhaps you may wanna look at the Ideapads (with the ATI 5730) or Dell has a good deal for the Studio 15 at the moment: http://configure.dell.com/dellstore/con ... tudio-1558 but even that isn't much of a gamer.

I'm getting an error when attempting to add the coupon code, "Coupon not valid for current shopping cart."

I'm just customizing a T510. Anyone else having any troubles?

Before I pull the trigger, I just want to confirm with other experienced RFDers. If I want to buy a ThinkPad in GTA, I believe the best deal is using this 35% coupon. Is this correct?

Thank you all in advance.

can I return for a full refund if I dont like the Thinkpad I orderred, i.e. the notebook is not a defective one but I just dont like it? I want to order one X201 as a gift to a family member who never used a thinkpad. Thanks.

Edit for question 2: can I upgrade service/warranty or accessories to make the order $1500 and use coupon? Thanks.

I think there's a 15% restocking fee. The 35% doesn't apply to accessories. But you can always try it and see if it'll take it off or not at the end.

As to your first question, the answer is no if you have opened the package. Good policy, they'd lose too much money that way.

If the product is defective, even then you cannot get an exchange or refund (they'll try to fix it even if the product is new), unless you are one of the rare extremely lucky people.
