I know this isn't as fast as Apple Silicon, but this seems to be more than fast enough for Office, web browsing, photo browsing, and video. It also comes with a 5G modem. It's great that this is a fanless design and has great battery life. I have never used Windows on ARM before. I know not all software will be compatible and there is an emulation layer. However, is it only possible to install apps through the app store? Is it possible to install compatible .exe files like I would if I was using Windows x86 by simply double-clicking on the file?

My understanding is that the emulation is similar to how 32bit applications run on 64 bit, but have not tried it myself.

For basic use this should work fine, but until the OS ecosystem matures there will likely be some hiccups. My main concern would be driver compatibility for older devices.

It looks like a great laptop (I'm a huge thinkpad T/P/X fan myself), but unless there is a promo on it, I'd say the m1 Macbook air is a stronger competitor at this price point (at least hardware wise)

I'm a huge fan of the ThinkPad X-series. I'm not too worried about app compatibility because when I'm on the road, I'm almost always doing what I had described in the OP. It's what I suspect most people do anyways. Judging from the lack of responses, I guess most people here haven't used Windows ARM.
