It's also available through refurb.io website for $142 + S&H. There was this coupon for free shipping, FREESHIP, but I'm not sure if it still works. There might be some other coupons currently around that peeps might want to google themselves.

Mind that it's small, but not light (unlike ultrabooks). It weighs ~4lb (1.75kg). Regarding CPU power, comparing the i3-3227U to some of the latest generation (for reference) typical laptop CPUs: a i5-7200U has a ~100% incremental performance and a i3-7100U a~50-60%. The IGPU won't be close to anything more recent. But it'd make a sturdy beater with a better-than-average keyboard.

Just wondering if anyone came across any other deals but with a 15.6" screen?

Thanks!

OP, thanks for highlighting that. I've been kicking myself for not getting it from NewEgg when they had a bunch at about 179$. They have some more now around that price but it's with ChromeOS (I'm ok with that) and a Celeron (... I'm less OK with that).

In for 1.

Hi bought this system early last year from Staples ebay store. This system is bulky and heavy for a 11.6" system. Based on that, I immediately returned it.

Wow.. This guy is still almost 4lb.. but being able to max out RAM to 8GB, 2.5" HDD and upgrade to AC wireless is great.

How would that thing perform with W10 to play 1080p MKV files? It would be plugged to a TV.

Watch out for refurb.io ninja edits (specs/description).

Watch out for refurb.io ninja price updates -- usually UP. Remember the HP 15 G1 workstation? it was selling for ~$550 and soon after it was posted on RFD, refurb.io upped its price to ~$600 [it eventually went back to its original price when the buyers lost interest on those].

Notice the errors highlighted in the screenshot attached.

Glad I got it from ebay. I have a screenshot of the listing I bought, if they send me something different they'll have to deal with ebay buyer protection...

EDIT: now the page on refurb.io is consistent, so I think maybe they ran out of the i3 version and were too lazy to create a new item. On ebay they created a new listing.

If they don't have enough for the amount they sold, they can cancel it. I won't accept the AMD E1 version. That said they sell the E1 version a bit cheaper (actually 15$ cheaper on refurb.io itself) so they probably just exhausted their stock.

Thanks for the heads up though, just in case I printed the order page from ebay.

just got this message from refurbio
"Hello,
I am very sorry to bring you this news; however, the company whom sold us these units gave us incorrect specs about the CPU. It is not actually an I3, it is lower so to compensate, we are willing to refund $15.00. If you do not agree with the said amount, you can also choose to cancel the order.
Please advise how you wish to proceed.
Sincerest apologies,
Teresa"
