I’m heading off to the EX today. My wallet is scared shitless right now lol
When you go, can you get more details on what other TVs they have there (still not sure I want to go OLED just yet). Also please check soundbar prices as well. Thanks!

This applies to anyone else going too!

Seeing the 55" B7 at LD for $1799 again in-store today is making it real hard for me to wait until BF for the C8 sales....
But seeing that they had the C8 for $2299 makes me hopeful that they will be sub-1900 this BF.
I took the plunge on the B7 from LD last weekend as I decided I couldn't wait! Still watching this thread though to see if a C8 price appears in the next couple of weeks that may make me consider the upgrade.

Pretty happy with the B7 so far, I've been struggling a bit with the settings, I'd not appreciated that depending on the video type (Dolby Vision, HDR, regular) that the settings would change even from the same input. So I've been looking around for help to tweak and calibrate. Some of the defaults weren't great and for movies and TV on Netflix I'm really happy with what I found. The HDR gaming from Xbox when I was playing FH3 initially I was happy, nice and vibrant, then I switched to game settings and it looks more washed out and muted, still tweaking that but been away from the long weekend so not able to play!

Nice. Thanks for confirming. It can't hurt to ask Best Buy. When I asked about the B7 65", I was able to negotiate them down $200 from full sale price with 1-year warranty to $3100 including a 3-year warranty, whereas another poster said s/he couldn't get them to budge more than $100 off a new LG and with no extra warranty, so YMMV.

Yes, I find the LG's flexibility in settings options both a blessing and a curse. Plus the settings are not based on just inputs. They are also based on apps and input type. So you if you feed it an SDR source it's a different set of settings than if you feed it an HDR source on the same input.

As for motion, the LGs are simply worse than the Sonys. The Sonys you set and forget. For the LG's there are lots of combinations to try, and I'm told some are OK, but they still aren't as good as the Sony settings for motion. I had considered getting a Sony, but the price was much higher, and the old model had that weird stand I didn't like. Plus the Sonys have a more aggressive Automatic Brightness Limiter.

For HDR game mode, the C8 is better than the B7, but you can supposedly compensate on the B7 by first adjusting the brightness settings in the game itself if possible, and then increasing the brightness/contrast and turning on dynamic contrast on the TV. I can't give you specific settings configurations though (other than using at least Dynamic Contrast Low or possibly Medium), because I never used Game Mode when I had my B7. It also depends on the game. Presumably the games that are mastered at 10000 nits are the ones that would look the most dim on the B7.

55C8 at Visions on Kennedy for $2100 Call (416) 250-8601 and ask for Rico tell him HIBBING sent you. 65" have to call but best price in town. These prices will probably end on the 6th.
Title and first post updated, thx.

BTW, the 77" C8 has now dropped officially (Best Buy, etc.) to US$6999.99. Real world prices are even lower, but that's the lowest the 77" has ever been in the US for full retail. The Canadian full retail price is still CAD$9999.99 though.

Maybe $0 as it may be completely sold out. It's a 2017 model, and has been replaced by the B8.

Yeah but if not in order to be competitive with the b8 the sale will have to be significant. Last year on Black Friday and Boxing Day the latest models were $1000 off. For the b7s to sell this year they’ll have go down a lot too.

$1000 off what?

The C8 55" and C8 65" are currently both "$1000 off" at Best Buy right now, at $2499.99 and $3499.99 respectively.

LG has been pricing the B7 $200 less than the B8.

Just to be clear I haven’t been following the latest pricing. But last year the price of the 65 b7 was $3999 and on Black Friday it came down to $2999 so it was a thousand off. All I’m saying is that if this year follows suit then the b7 should be a great deal on Black Friday. Maybe as low as $2300. That is of course that they haven’t already sold out as you mentioned in your previous post.

Just bought the 55 C8 from Top Choice Electronics in Brampton for 1850 + 28 (environment fee) + tax (13%, ON). I think that is the lowest we have seen this far.

Dayum... at that price for the C8, I probably wouldn't hold out for BF myself. Too bad there isn't one of those stores here in BC.

I can already see the mental gears in motion ... a GTX 2080TI computer with a 55" OLED 'monitor' for only $4500? Black Friday is calling.
