Anyone notice pixelation on dark scenes? It comes and goes... not sure its from source or tv. Noticed it watching Jack Ryan on Prime and also on Alienist on Netflix.

If streaming there is a good chance it's from the source.

However, reviews state that in the near-black performance on LG OLEDs is worse than Sony OLEDs, despite using the same panels, since Sony has a better video processing SoC (but with higher input lag on the Sony).

Copy and paste the link for the video to take you to the appropriate spot in the video (175 seconds) or else just navigate to 2'55".

Going off topic a bit here.

Trying to gauge what my current tv is worth, it's a Samsung UN60f6300

I bought it for $1000 around 4 years ago. Two USED ones sold on ebay in the last couple months for $1000 USD.

What am I missing? Anyone know the actual value of this set or why it's seemingly in such high demand?

That’s the base 4K model that’s 4 years old. I don’t know why those sold for so much on eBay, but you’d be lucky to get $400 locally.

It could be the source because I was watching Ozark on netflix last night with no pixelation and I was experiencing the darkest dark, very impressed. But it could be the settings as well? I followed the rtings.com's recommended settings under ISP Expert (dark room) but every time I play something the TV would automatically change the picture mode based on the source material, it never stays in ISP expert.

The sale is still on.

For example, at Best Buy, despite the sale ending yesterday, the prices for the 55" and 65" C8 are exactly the same, but now with a new sale end date of Sept. 13.

These prices seem to be the new norm for advertised pricing:

$2299.99: 55" B8
$2499.99: 55" C8
$3299.99: 65" B8
$3499.99: 65" C8

Street pricing will be significantly lower at some stores as we all know however. Also, interestingly enough the 65" B7 is still listed at $3299.95, which is just 4 cents cheaper than the B8. That's kinda stupid since the B8 is a better TV than the B7 in some aspects, and since it's 1 year newer it may get firmware updates for longer too. I'd still usually recommend the C8 over the B8 and B7 though, if the difference in price is only $200. The C8 has the same panel as the B8, but better video processing as mentioned before. The built-in sound of the C8 is also better, if that actually matters to you.

The price of the 77" C8 has gone up though, and now is back to its previously advertised $11999.99.

I don't know. I don't use ISP expert. I use Cinema Home with minor modifications most of the time. However, when I tried it, I didn't like ISF Dark because it's too dark for me. The other daytime ISF setting was better even in the dark IMO. Note though I think the number scale used for the brightness for Dolby Vision settings is actually different than the number scale for other sources.

BTW, look at Lost In Space episode three where the dad is in the flooded bottom of the ship in the dark checking for fuel leaks. The blacks are truly stunning in that scene. In fact, the blacks were so good I just kept on saying to myself how awesome they were and was having trouble keeping my attention on the story itself. :D

And it looks like I'll be watching Iron Fist Season 2 this weekend on Netflix. :)
