LG OLED65C8PUA 65" 4K Ultra HD Smart OLED TV (2018 Model) is listed on Amazon for $3429.99 right now. Does anyone know what the PUA in the model means?

Anyone know what the Samsung 65" Q8FN goes for street? My sis' wants a 65" TV and I've suggested OLED because her setup makes wide viewing angles very desirable, but I want to be able to offer her advice on a QLED LCD as well if she goes that direction. So far I've mentioned the Sony X900F already, probably at around $2200-$2300, and the LG C8 at $2900-$3000. BTW, OLED in her setup isn't necessarily ideal either. She lives in a glass condo building. Her entire exterior wall is literally a giant window. She has electronically controlled blinds, but still... Mind you, The LG C8 is brighter than her current 1080p SDR TV, and she's survived this long with her LCD.
65Q8FN they can do for $2875. Untouchable price.

Does anyone buy the additional warranty that stores offer? It looks like Costco has a very good warranty. I am asking in regards to Bestbuy, Visions and London Drugs. Thanks

Ok thanks.

Interesting the price is very similar to the 65” C8.

I was planning to get this TV for the kitchen (which is fairly bright) but I've been reading that OLED is not recommended for bright rooms. Would the X900F be a better alternative?

Since price is comparable, depending on her viewing habits (if they skew towards the evening), OLED is still ahead IMO.

Depending on how bright a room is sometimes no TV will win due to the light/glare washing everything out.

In the kitchen? What are you using it for? If just watching the news and occasional shows in bright sunlight off axis then perhaps even a cheap IPS LCD might make sense.

I have a 65” OLED in a dedicated partially light controlled room for Netflix and movie watching. In the living room I use a Sony IPS 43” X800E 4K screen for bright daylight news and kids shows, with lots of off-axis seating.

A VA LCD would not have worked well in the living room due to the off axis seating and I wanted the superior image of the OLED in the dedicated room.

Yes you can get these TVs in Calgary... but getting the same prices as have been reported seems to be a bit more of a stretch. The best prices for 2018 I believe were the original BestBuy ones reported in the OP. Other better prices all seem to be CNE related or local to a single Visions store in ON.

The "best" deal in Calgary (that I took advantage of) was the 2017 models at London Drugs though stock on those is going fast and prices appear to be weekend only.

Saw the c8 at bestbuy and while it's an excellent TV, it seems the gloss-like finish would have a lot of glare? Is that the case with all oleds or just this line? I'm in a condo with mostly windows, so might not be so good in my case? I saw the 75sk8070 next to it which was a 75" lcd tv for $2999. What are people's thoughts on that one? Can it be found for less elsewhere too?
