$7750 for the 77c8 UNTIL THE 6TH.
Nice, but it looks like we're still quite a fair distance from the US street pricing. The 65" pricing we've seen is much closer to US street pricing.

My sis' in the same boat. Was considering a bigger TV, but the jump in price from the 65" to the 77" is a little too much right now, especially when you consider differential pricing of the LCDs.

I think once the street price of the 77" OLEDs gets to about $5000, we are going to see an avalanche of 77" orders.

Yes you can get these TVs in Calgary... but getting the same prices as have been reported seems to be a bit more of a stretch. The best prices for 2018 I believe were the original BestBuy ones reported in the OP. Other better prices all seem to be CNE related or local to a single Visions store in ON.
YMMV but a few people have been able to negotiate similar prices or sometimes lower (Top Choice), or else prices within about $50-$100 of those prices (ie. less than $3000 for a 65" C8) at various stores, including multiple Visions stores in several cities and at other stores.

Unfortunately though, it depends on how willing your local retailer is to bargain. Some will bargain to get that lower margin sale, while others just can't be bothered.

The Best Buy prices were never the best though. I posted them mainly because they were representative of national advertised pricing. These Best Buy prices were the real starting point for negotiation, not the insane $4999 price point for the 65" C8 that we had. ie. If you pay more than $3500 (even with extra warranty) for a 65" you are getting hosed, as you really should be paying several hundred dollars less than that. Whether you can hit south of $2900 is another matter though. Things may change for the worse on Sept. 6 though... until the next sale.

The previous sale with sanctioned advertised pricing had the 65" C8 at $3700.
The current sale with sanctioned advertised pricing has the 65" C8 at $3500.
I don't know when the next sale will be after that, and what the pricing will be.
The "best" deal in Calgary (that I took advantage of) was the 2017 models at London Drugs though stock on those is going fast and prices appear to be weekend only.
Agreed. Excellent deal on the B7 at London Drugs in-store on weekends... until stock is exhausted, which I'd guess is sooner rather than later.

Did a lot of driving around today. Went to Top Choice in Vaughan and they were closed. Then did a detour to the Brampton store. Went in said someone got the 55" C8 for 1850 and they very quickly gave it to me for the same price. $1850 + 28 env fee + tax = $2122. Took less than 10 minutes in and out. They said it's their last one until they restock and a lot of people were looking for it. It's definitely a great deal.

Huge thanks to the OP and everyone on this thread. I first started looking for a TV not knowing what's good out there, maybe in the $1200-1400 range. Then I thought of getting the B7 hopefully for $1600 or $1700. Ended up getting the C8 for a similar price! RFD sure knows how to upsell. :D

OMG I finally got Atmos over ARC from the C8 working with proper lip sync with my Marantz receiver. I am very happy now. :)

It turns out the Auto Lip Sync feature actually works. I tried it before and thought it didn’t work but I must have set it up wrong. I gave it another shot and now it’s working great.

Congrats man!

PS. This upsell is definitely worth it. Every time I sit down and watch a newish 4K release, I’m just al smiles. ;)

Mind you I just finished watching the 4K Predator disc and the quality is horrid in some parts, despite being a remaster. Oh well, great movie though.

Congrats! Looking into the 65" version. Do you happen to know the price for that size?

If you’re going to Top Choice, ask them for $2850 based on info from rfd and see what they say.

I didn't ask about the 65" sorry.

They opened up the initial price for the 55" at 2k, which is already pretty low. So EugW may be right that you may get it for 2850. Or you can try it at Visions which I think hibbing said it's just under 2900 until Sept 6th.

At the one Visions only, Kennedy Commons it IS below $2900 and may continue beyond the 6th. Will let everyone know. Have to ask for Mike or Rico and mention y namme. Could even be lower....Winking Face

Do you think they'd go even lower if someone were to buy two? Trying to convince my old man he needs to upgrade from his newly-acquired M-series 55" Vizio :D

I have been playing Fortnite a lot since it's launch last Summer and unfortunately I have burn in from the in game HUD on my 55" LG OLED B7.

TV was from that sketchy tv store in Dufferin mall that is now long gone I think? I used my credit card, so double warranty as it is passed the 1 year from LG.
They've done a great job demonstrating Burn in on OLED in this live chat.

Folks, the C8 is top of class. The burn-in issue is avoidable with prudence. Don't leave a channel with a news ticker running 24/7, don't run these TVs with airport terminal flight times 24/7, and don't lazily pause the game screen for days on end.

I will not touch a TV at this price range for the foreseeable future, but if ballers like @Hibbing push the 55" C8 down another 40% to 50% by Black Friday ... I may have trouble saying no.

Another 40-50% from what has been mentioned ? So into the $1000-1200 range ?

I have just started following the LG OLED pricing and just wondering if that is realistic as the C8's will just be the current year's model.

It's not realistic, unless I source an overstock or clearance outlet in the US and re-ship it north. I've done it before... but normally in a batch shipment with other items... and I typically don't post these deals here.

In any case, @Hibbing is a blessing to you folks staying local, buy him a beer when you're in the GTA... for good measure.

I bought mine at 1850 because I don't foresee it dropping too much by BF, but I'm just guessing. People are saying that the B7 55 is 1700 at LD and that's last year's model. It's just like the 65 C8 is listed just under 2900 now, but Hibbing did say it won't go down to 2500 by BF. Comparing by logic it's reasonable to assume the 55 C8 maybe just a tad lower than 1850 in 3 months.

I'll buy another one if it does drop to 1400 by BF :D

Unfortunately not a chance.
