Anyone check how much Rico will do for the 65" x900f by Sony? We know lowest for 65" C8, so was just wondering. Or do you know hibbing?

A couple of weeks ago the 65" Sony X900F was $2200. Dunno what it is now.

I'm curious. What are the reasons you're looking at the Sony LCD instead of the LG OLED?

I'd like to know the pricing for the 65" Sony X900F as well if it's being shared.

Deciding between that and the LG C8 in 65".

I went to visions today and bought the c8 65” for $2775. They were out of stock though and they should have 18 more coming in by end of the week. I am the 5th in line.

They also said they would give a good deal on wall mounts but I don’t know the exact price since I didn’t buy it yet. I will do some research to see if the one they sell can do a 90degree swivel wth the 65” and get it when I pick up the tv if it can.

They also had extended warranty that converts into a visions gift card at the end of the term if you don’t use it. Seems like a good deal but knowing me I will forget about it in 5 years so I didn’t take it.

Bit the bullet at Visions Kennedy today too, 65" OLED C8 for $2775 and I got the $589 5 Year Warranty as well.

Rico is a great salesman and was very straightforward.

Thanks @EugW for the thread and @Hibbing for the recommendation!

Also the 60 day price guarantee means I won't be stressing about Black Friday price drops.

Only issue is having to wait now for stock to come in since the RFD effect has sold them out. Gonna have a pick-up in store later this week or $75 delivery charge.

Shout out to the other RFD'er I saw in there who also got the 65C8. Winking Face

Don’t count on the price match at Visions. Got the 65C8 at Burlington store at $2930 a week ago. Saw the deal price from here at $2775. So I called the Rico to confirm the price and hope my store will honour the difference. Got a call back from store said it was a “OPEN BOX” price only. Not much you can do about other than return it.

By the way, the TV is amazing

Irrespective of anyone getting this deal, this is a great contribution from Hibbing to RFD. Thanks again. Appreciate the effort.

I purchased the 65" c8 last Tuesday for $2850. Still waiting for mine to arrive. I wonder if I'd be able to get a refund for the price difference, since the going price seems to be $2775 now.

Keeping my options open. Not like $2775 is chump change. HDMI 2.1 for 2019 does bother me though. May end up holding out. Not sure. It's a big purchase, so that's why I'm actively inquiring.

$2775 isn't chump change, but neither is $2200. If you're going to spend that much money, you should strongly consider spending ~25% more to get an OLED, unless you have a specific reason to get an LCD.

No guarantees that 2019 will bring full HDMI 2.1 to mainstream OLEDs. And even if it does, it may take a year or two to mature. HDMI 2.1 is a pretty big change in technology.

To add this, it's hard and expensive to catch up with technology. After HDMI 2.1, there may be 3.1 a year later who knows.
