[Amazon.ca] LG 27" IPS 1080p 144hz 1ms Monitor $314.99

Yeah I was shocked when I saw the IPS. It's the cheapest 27" IPS 144hz monitor on Amazon I think. There is also Asus': https://www.amazon.ca/1080p-Gaming-LED- ... 074JLD4HZ/

Don't bother,

1080p at 27 inches just looks like garbage.

Disagree, it all depending on the viewing distance. 27" 1080p @144hz looks perfectly fine for me for my corner desk at 2-3 ft viewing distance.

Also, to drive 1440p 144Hz gaming, you are going to need a decently beefy GPU.

It's not bad at all actually. My current monitor is that specs but not 144hz. I don't have any issue with it even when I do Photoshop and whatnot. I'm too frugal to buy a higher resolution lol

Just my opinion. /shrugs/
It will differ depending on the user but I'm quite picky with that kinda stuff and it's still okay for me. :) If any size larger, yes, I'd go for 1440p or higher. I recommend people try out different monitors at Canada Computers or something as they have a few on display plugged into a desktop PC. Play around with different resolutions and see what will bother you.

I sit fairly away and a 27 1080p is very noticeable. If you want a bargain, grab it. If you wait quality, spend an extra hundred or grab the dell sg27dg. I have it paired with my mg279 and yes, it isn't as good but fairs quite well for a panel.
Edit: Stayed up too late for these ''deals''

Viewing DISTANCE.

I have a 1440p and a 1080p 27" right in front of me now, the difference is negligible at that distance. Not saying there isn't, but for gaming, 1080p is perfectly fine.

I also have a 34" Dell Ultrasharp IPS in front of me that's 1.5 ft away, it looks less sharp despite viewing distance. My point is, coming out and calling something crap without factoring in other variables isn't helpful.

If this was 1440 it would be a great deal.

1080 at this price is not worth it.
