LG OLED C1 settings

What's the best source to get real explanations and advice on all of LG's detailed settings for the new OLED C1 series? I've done an initial configuration setup and left things mostly on Auto/default for the moment, but I've already encountered some issues.

For example my Android media player has an HDR mode. When that's enabled, the TV detects it and enables HDR, but the picture immediately get too dark and the colour way over-saturated, and I can't fix it sufficiently with the picture settings. I had to turn HDR off.

Is there a way to display info about the currently-viewed source, like resolution, audio type, colour depth?

The Series X is arguably the best console graphics platform for OLED 4K beauty.
I aim to be inclusive and considerate of others in my posts. If I fall short of that mark, feel free to let me know in good faith, and where appropriate, I'll edit my posts. Thank you.

Thanks. I'll test those settings, but I'm not a big believer in using somebody else's list of "calibrated" settings. There are good reasons why TVs have a range of settings. They're roughly calibrated at the factory, but each set is a bit different, every input source is different, individual programs vary widely, ambient light changes, different people have their own preferences, etc.. If I had my own pro colour meter and access to the factory menus with a proper calibration guide, that would be a good starting point - but I don't, so it has to be done by eye.

I prefer to have a proper explanation of what each and every adjustment does, and be able to experiment individually with each one so that I can achieve the best picture and sound with each input source and each program. I normally leave each TV input on a good compromise setting, but occasionally there's a particular source or program where the compromise doesn't work well, and I want to know which setting(s) to go to to fix it in that case.

In your case, hire an ISF Certified Calibration agent.

Not worth it. I don't care so much to have the TV precisely accurately calibrated for theoretically perfect program sources when that's not what I actually get. I want to be able to correct obvious defects in the picture (and sound). For example as I mentioned HDR from my media player is way too dark and over-saturated. How can I best fix that? Is a setting wrong somewhere? If I fiddle with contrast/brightness/saturation quite a lot I can make it better, but still not very good - is there a better adjustment for this?

Update on viewing the video and audio properties of the current input:

LG has no instructions for this (or anything else for the most part - terrible documentation).

For the CX, internet says to press the Ok button to display the input (like HDMI1), then show the mouse cursor and use it click on the input box to display the input properties.

This does not work on the C1. If I press the Ok button on the Magic remote while viewing a video input source, it sends the Ok command to the attached device via CEC command.

If you press the mouse cursor button on the LG remote, it displays a screen menu of input sources you can select from with the cursor, but no information about those sources.

It turns out there is a command the C1 recognizes to display the current input source and input signal video and audio properties, but it's not available with the LG Magic remote by any means I can find. It has to be sent as the IR command "Info" by my Harmony remote,

That's bizarre. Why would LG provide a remote that can't access important commands, and not even provide a way to get to those commands on the TV menus?

It looks like LG has just discontinued their Android app LG TV Plus, although it's still referenced all over their web site. No replacement mentioned.
