Their may be a way. I'm on the other side of the country right now, so I can't trial solutions at this time.

Try enabling QuickStart+, @Smokem.

If it doesn't reset your input settings as it did for me on the LG 2018 (predecessor), it could put the monitor into a permanent standby (a good thing).

Thanks, will give it a shot tonight. Responding to posts while away - that's dedication, much appreciated!

You may have forgotten to post the link... which has peaked my interest even more.

Got my unit from Costco and set it up today. So far looks great with 4k content from pc and Netflix using calibration settings from 1st page. Thanks again OP.

I'm really glad you found value in this product.

I wish there was more inertia online to find monitor solutions like this one. My RFD yahoo is getting emails about this thread more than any other.

For the curious, it's my nick @yahoo.com.

LG UM7300 43" 4K IPS TV-as-Monitor: Want-to-Have Checklist
- Wake on PC boot
- HDMI 2.0 Picture-in-Picture

I think wake on boot is possible. Alternatively, leaving your computer on with QuickStart+ enabled should wake the monitor with the movement of the mouse or pressing of keyboard keys.

HDMI 2.0 Picture-in-Picture remains a holy grail for me. For the life of me, I can't find a third party switch or equivalent product that will do this for me.

There isn't much I need from this monitor that it doesn't already do. Of the two items listed, I only really care about HDMI 2.0 Picture-in-Picture so I can watch American news in the screen corner, while doing productive work.

Placed my order yesterday with Amazon and got my tv and stand already. Set everything up and this TV is even better than expected. The smart features are surprisingly quick to boot and even 1080p looks good on this. The speakers are also passable. Much better than I expected.

It does not show on Costco.ca Is it available at any Costco stores in Edmonton? I only see the 6300 there.

No, but the good news is that the sale doesn't end until end of day August 29th. In my post-travel delirium, I was 24 hours early in my deal deadline.

Costco instore won't have stock. Costco online is sold out, twice now.

Your best bet is Amazon.ca, Visions, and The Source, in that order.

I want one for tv shows, movies and gaming, in that order. I don't know if anything better will be coming along at this price range. Should I pull the trigger?

Something better is always coming.

This TV is a good all-around TV, but a great PC monitor.

Like most IPS panels, colors are decent but black levels, while improved, are not OLED true black.

For the price, it's cheaper than anything else in its performance range. The Samsung RU7100 43" competing TV is $498 and is a VA panel, which is good and bad.

Long story short, there's a good argument that the 43" UM7300 is a respectable TV and a surprisingly good PC monitor.

At larger sizes, other TVs start to compete within their relevant price ranges.
