Not worth it especially with terrible LG track record and bad reviews of the G8 (even worse than G7) , all say to avoid

Will wait for usual firesale of LG flagship phone's to buy.. the ($400-500) new is where it will be in a month or two maybe faster with the bad reviews it's been getting
I've watched lots of YouTube reviews on the G8. None of them are bad. Some say the S10 is better. S10 is better than maybe all phones.

The tv has treated me *very* well too. Don't have the G7 anymore either.

I have a G6 that's still serving me very well. But the G8 seems rather underwhelming compared to the other available options out there.

As quoted by some others too, I'm not sure if you can compare reliability of LG vs S10e? I used to have a LG and loved it until I got the blue screen and lost a lot of data without warning. This was after the warranty period..

What do you think the price will be for g8?

I am thinking of getting it next month when there is price drop on freedom tab + $200 gift card.
last year, the G7 was 0 upfront with a $360 med tab during summer. I'm expecting this price at koodo. maybe around $500 at freedom? most are saying the phone is not worth the premium price as it doesn't feel like a flagship phone

I think it was the G7 one which is a stripped down version of the G7 thinq

Have had G4 (2x) and G5 both fail on my wife and me. Never again. Warranty and service was a nightmare as well.

Much happier with a Xiaomi, cheaper and arguably better performance.

Never used LG cellphone warranty so no idea if they are good or bad but last time with a LG DVD drive warranty (early 2000's) it was easy and a breeze for a brand new replacement.

As for Xiaomi, no warranty in Canada, I think you have to send it back to China, talk about nightmare.

LG haters aside, this deal is meh, IMO.

Extra warranty is good, $200 card is considerably less than the 4k TV with G7 though, but about par for what's being offered from other manufacturers (Huawei watch, Samsung credit, etc)

The big problem is carrier pricing is utter shit. I looked into Fido. Even with the $350 credit, the minimum Tab XL plan is $110/m with 2GB only! Compare that to a normal BYOD $60/m plan & you're paying an extra $50/m or $1200 for 2 years - The full cost of the damn phone!

I'll wait to see what Koodo does. Freedom is not too bad @ $25/m on their 10GB plan, but also not available until Q3 2019 in my area. The nice thing about LG phones is they always see a nice discount after release.

warranty with LG is fine now. it was a pain when the G4 started bootlooping as LG took forever to acknowledge that it was a design failure

Yup, I was waiting to pull the trigger on it last summer, but missed the boat (was hoping for GC's to sweeten the deal). G7 One came out & they discontinued their stock of the ThinQ. I called in - They EOL'd it & shipped all of their stock to their distributor which is crazy given how you could get the G5 & G6 years later...

After, lg g2, 3 and 6 failed on me AFTER warranty... I am done with LG phone.

Without no apparent reason, digitilizer just stop working, same for wifi module that could not set to on. All hardware and software issue. When i talk on the phone, nobody can ear me properly, never again.

My samsung s7 edge still going strong after 5 years. I have dropped it many many time. Never failed. Just the battery start to loose capacity that i fixed with an external battery case.

LG phone? Think twice before purchase.
I had a G2, G3 and now G5 and they are all still going strong to this day. The G5 battery drains really quick though, but otherwise I have no complaint. I still use my G3 as a home phone with Fongo.
