Excellent base price. Couple of caveats to those interested:

1) Not sure how much expedited shipping is
2) Reliability of the vendor/website

Other than that the phone is solid and would not hesitate to recommend it to those on the fence.

An additional $20 in shipping, and duties. Seems like a solid price. Really gonna have to consider this today. I go back and forth between this and the essential phone.

Can't speak on cost of expedited shipping costs, but I got a Mi Box from them last fall. If you're fine waiting 5-6 weeks for it, I don't see any issues with LitB.

Not trying to switch the topic, but the Redmi Note 4 is also under 200 with the ebates (though 3 gig ram and 32 Gb storage vs larger capacity A1). Anyone have any first hand experience with the Resmi Note 4? I've heard about some Bluetooth issues with calling and pairing to cars audio systems so if anyone can either reply to me or dm me if that's the case let me know!

I have the Snapdragon version of the Redmi Note 4 (the one to get if you want LTE compatibility) and occasionally (once or twice a month, daily driver) do have Bluetooth connectivity issues with my BMW. I usually do a combination of resetting bluetooth for the car, phone, or resetting the phone and it resolves it. Annoying, but not dealbreaking for the price of the phone.

But wait... This is not the global version of A1. There is no LTE Band 4 nor Band 2.

Good catch! That makes a huge difference. Definitely going to pass on this now.

Reviews are saying global version was shipped. Maybe the bands were listed incorrectly on the page by litb. Either way proceed at your own risk, worst case if you use Virgin / Koodo / Bell / Public / Telus you'll still get band 5 and 7 lte.

I've been eyeing the Xiaomi line of budget android phone for a while now, trying to narrow down what I want to replace my LG G4 when it finally bites the dust. This looks like it might fit the bill. Is the consensus around here that this is currently the best option from Xiaomi? The only thing that I'd be concerned with is the mediocre camera I've read about in a few reviews.

I ordered this phone Jan 23. Received it yesterday. Shipped by PostNL. Getting 4G no problem on Public Mobile.

The phone was on Nougat but updated to Oreo 8.0 right away. So far so good and Android One is a heck of lot better than ASUS's skin on my +2yr old Zenfone 2 Laser.

Where did you order from and what shipping option did you use?
I'm just trying to get an idea of what to expect if I order one today.

Thanks!

I ordered from LightIntheBox as well. I used Postal Service - Tracking as the shipping method which is PostNL and added their "custom duties" insurance option. That's prob a scam but this was the first time using them. Ordered from Geekbuying and GBest with no issues so wasn't sure what they would declare on the customs form. So shipping and insurance was $11.80.

Ordered Jan 23. Arrived in Canada on Feb 7th where the tracking ended. Received Feb 13.

No, it means you get a 14% rebate return.

Good to hear! Are you happy with the results you see from the camera?
