You would be amazed at how many people buy chocolate throughout the year...When we were on COVID-19 lockdown and food retails were allowed to open for curbside pickup...Lindt did that too and apparently there were "tussles" breaking out at lineup outside the store waiting to pickup their orders. People WANT their chocolates and they don't want people in their way.

You can also see many Excellence bars are staple goods at Walmart and Loblaws. There are A LOT of people who seem to NEED their Lindt fix. Good for the company...and I guess dentists too.

The fridge is your friend.

As a general rule, refrigerating chocolate can extend its shelf life by at least 25%, while freezing can prolong it by 50% or more. Place the original box in a heavy-duty plastic freezer bag, seal it tightly and then refrigerate for up to one year, or freeze for up to 18 months for best quality.

When refrigerating or freezing chocolate, make sure it is sealed in an airtight container—refrigerators are very humid. Always thaw frozen chocolate in the refrigerator; if it goes straight from the freezer to room temperature, condensation will form and alter the appearance and texture.

Buy on clearance, freeze and enjoy at your convenience.

It takes a looooooong time for chocolate to go bad. Nuts would go bad before the chocolate if it had them in it

If it expires in August and you still have it in December, it would still be good.

Obviously you can't buy it and sit on it for 2 years but again, it's chocolate. Buy a reasonable amount that you will eat in the next 6 months and it will be perfectly fine

Back from store in DDO, QC. Bag of 22 50g bunnies for $10.56. 90% off. Only one bag left that I saw. Boxes of 100 gram bunnies also 90% off for $20. Lots of boxes left. Didn't count how many in box. The bag of 22 bunnies was the better deal the salesperson said, but I don't think by much. The chocolate tasted like it always does so no quality issue. I also was the only customer in the store...
