Credit Card Fraud, Unwanted gift, impulse purchase that one regrets later, "fell down" off the truck. There can be any number of reasons.

I personally have sold a 3 Month old MacBook Air with AppleCare, after realizing that the cooling on that was nearly non-existent and it would throttle on almost anything, for a significant discount off the new price. I think this was the model where the fan is not even close to the heatsink, and it'd throttle like crazy
