[Canadian Tire] Liquid hand sanitizer, 20L bucket $19.99

Does not seem to be very pleasant hand sanitizer (see reviews), also there was a recall, but good for cleaning (e.g. tools) as it is 70-80% ethanol, 1-5% isopropyl, 0.1-1% hydrogen peroxide, 10-30% water and 1-5% glycerin.

Here is MSDS: https://www.canadiantire.ca/content/dam ... 80P_EN.pdf

Bought this stuff a few times for the business I work for. I really like it but it is quite pungent (alcohol smell). Super watery, not a gel, so I recommend putting it in spray bottles for use.

For reference, I think I first purchased for $199 per pail then on sale at $129. Crazy how “cheap” it is now!

Wow, I doubt CT is clearing it with loss or at least at Triton's manufacturing value, so at least we see how businesses are price-gouging on the pandemic.

I think this may be the recalled one with industrial ethanol in it. Use it for cleaning, ethanol is a good solvent. Also bucket alone with a lid is worth at least $5, I use 5 gallon buckets as planters.

Isopropyl cannot be easily separated from ethanol as they have very similar boiling point, so do not buy this for purification in simple distiller.

Othervise, if you manage to purify it, it should taste like unflavored vodka.

But seriously, do not drink this !!!

Cheaper than windshield washer fluid! I know of the guys that make this locally, they can't be making any profits at this price.

Cook with it, clean with it, bathe in it. Feel good, sanitized and clean...

How can these companies NOT get charged for price-gouging when the government said they were going to reinforce it?? Who's REALLY in charge of Canada after all... apparently NOT our elected politicians...

$199 as per Paul? Is he your boss or something? At least in that case is his money. Much cheaper to put straight moonshine in spray bottles Winking Face.

10 buckets.
Stay strong, situation always looks harder and that it will never end when you are in the middle of it, but remember past experiences, everything has an ending.

My bad, autocorrect gone wild lately... meant to be “$129 per pail.”

This was back when the 4L gel jugs were running $50-$60 each “on sale.”

A liquidation price has very little to do with the retail price of a popular item that was in short supply World wide in a time of pandemic.

The public is moving towards a 'spit happens' view at this point. Whether valid or unwise, folks are getting tired.

I still somehow get poorly written Yahoo alerts about new strains every week (now it's California apparently), the market is speaking as we see here though. Something can be simultaneously true, and people can still not care.

Thank god for human nature.
