Idk if it's been mentioned before but if you're traveling to Asia, Grab is the more common app rather than Uber or Lyft. The good thing is also that it translates messages sent via the app to the driver.

An excellent app for sharing costs if you are a group is Tricount. Available for Android for sure. I don't know about Apple.

I've been using this for the last 8 years or so, traveling for training camps and competition where sharing rooms, food and other stuff is standard. Just really great and simple app, love it and a must have to figure out who owes who what.

An app for the leisure section

I have used MX Player Pro for a long time, but it has gone down hill since it was sold to new owners. Moved to VLC, but found it to be bloated.

I have always used nPlayer Plus on my iPad and now it is available on Android as well. Controls are similar to MX Player
