[Loblaws] 5 Cents Hand Sanitizer - Lifebuoy 50ml - 500ml - YMMV??

Loblaws Kanata has lifebuoy hand sanitizer for $.05. Different sizes from 50ml upto 500ml.

Could be YMMV.

Hand sanitizer expires after 2 - 3 years. I think these have been on the shelf for 6-12+ months so unless you use 2 or more a month some of those 32 bottles won't be effective before you use them up.

At the height of the pandemic, when people hoarded all that stuff, I found a purell in my medicine cabinet, a medium sized bottle, that was 10 years expired. Seemed fine, used it all up. Haven't got sick yet since Dec 2019. Not even a cold.

Good deal for the bottles alone. Just refill when needed.

That 10 year old purell wouldn't have killed any germs. After that long it would have had little to no alcohol left.

Hand sanitizer expires because its alcohol content dissolves over time — once it drops below 60% alcohol, it won't be as effective at killing germs. Depending on the alcohol % that's 2 to 3 years.

They are being cleared at $0.05 or free for a reason.

Now, it's probably not a bad idea to keep using what you got until the world is at least 70% vaccinated.

Even UK which is vaccinated as well as us is falling to Delta. US got hotspots for obvious anti-vax reasons. And I'm sure Trudeau probably got pressure to open up the borders soon from other world leaders.

Walmart in Van also gives it out for free. Behind the cashier. I don’t know is that a limit, but I grabbed couple.
