[Loblaws] Cashmere Toilet Paper 12 = 24 (242 sheets/roll) $5.99 - 2000 PC Optimum March 10-16

Image

This upcoming Thursday, the Provigo flyer (to confirm Loblaws ON/West) shows a price of $5.99, which is not earth-shattering, but the toilet paper calculator calls it a good deal per sheet: https://www.redflagdeals.com/toiletpaper/comparison

Where it gets interesting is for PC Optimum points collectors. 2000 PCO points have a cash value of $2, so if you consider this a cash rebate, the deal goes to $3.99, from good to great, a top ten price per sheet in recent years actually:

Note 1: Cashmere rolls in the "2 X" format were formerly 253 sheets, currently 242 sheets. Roll sizes are always changing for every brand, be aware of this scam.

Note 2: Cashmere is an excellent brand I have often purchased. However, after posting a Cascades Fluff deal last week I'm expecting another round of strange comments and questions seeming to pooh-pooh (pun intended) the deal. Having now tried Cascades Fluff (as well as the overhyped, overpriced Cottonelle Ultra on "sale" until March 15) I'd say pick up the Cascades tomorrow if you're a Wednesday shopper, and get product reviews off site if you don't know or trust a brand, because either people here no longer math or something really fishy is going on here with shills.

Yours still works out more expensive per sheet though doesn't it? Seems counterintuitive, but I can't find any error. I'm assuming 4" x 4" (whatever width) sheets, so 3 per foot X 1000 foot rolls:

Generally these humungoid rolls are only a value for institutions because the size of the rolls can reduce maintenance costs and/or theft. I can't speak to the specific quality of this product, but even if it can be found for less than you posted, it's not really fair to compare an industrial product and size to consumer grade paper, which for major name brands is mostly excellent, even for when the wife has friends over for coffee.

Thanks @eunoia for the informative deals you post.

I tried to get the Cashmere TP 8=16 deal at Loblaws when it was 3.33. I still have the rain check for it but have yet to find it in stock. It looks like the deal tomorrow is even better?

In your expert opinion, should I wait until tomorrow for the Cashmere, or go for the Cascades before it ends today?

All credit for expertise goes to @porksoda whose Calculation Thread brought us the science of toilet paper shopping, and the RFD Toilet Paper Calculator which allows users to thumb their noses at the toilet paper oligarchs. :D

So can you buy multiples of these with an Optimum card at one time and get the same 2000 points on every item purchased? For example, buy 3 packs of TP and get 6000 points? Or 4 packs of paper towel and get 8000 points? New to Optimum, sorry.

I remember 320 became 293 which became 273 which became 253 and now 242. It's not like that we are running out of trees or toilet paper sanctions.,
toilet paper makes use of waste in the wood processing.
Its funny how the package size of formats remained the same, its like buying air. yes folks it's inflation.
