[Loblaws] Kicking Horse Coffee $9.99 + PC Optimum Bonus Points

Kicking Horse coffee on sale at Loblaws this week for $9.99 and noticed there is bonus offer of 5,000 points for every $20 spend so effectively $7.50 retail when you buy two after points. Really hot deal on Kicking Horse at that price.

$19.98 won't be enough to be "spent $20 or more"

This is correct, since the points are awarded on the Pre tax amount. You will have to buy 3 bags, so $30 (roughly) less $5 in points is less than a 20% discount.

Not true - I tested it this morning and generally have found they give you the points if you're within a nickel of the spend amount.

this is interesting, i really thought that the pre-tax amount should be over and above the stated amount in their ad.
thanks for the info

How soon do you see the points? It sounds like you should see it right away on the receipt, right?

I mistakenly thought it was 5000 points PER $20 spent instead of just 5000 points regardless of how much spent over $20. Oh well, still a good deal for me.

I haven't really found Kicking Horse to be worth the price, even discounted like this. I've tried most of the varieties at this point. All of their medium roasts are dark roasts.. and they are roasted way before they make it to you so everything is stale. Might as well buy McCafe beans.

The ones I enjoyed the most were the Hola light roast and the Z-Wrangler of all the ones I tried..

I've found their coffee leans toward being on the darker side, but generally less bitter than true dark. I enjoy the smart ass medium roast, good aroma, crisp taste don't even need a creamer.

are sure it's 5000 points for *every* $20 spent? or spend minimum $20 to get 5000 points only

Yes, I imagine I could but I didn't bother even though I was still in the store when I realized that I didn't get the points I was expecting. Having said that, I would have only purchased $20 worth if I had properly read the deal the first time. I guess if there is a supply chain issue I will have a little more in my stash to get me through. :)
