[Loblaws] PC Pure Maple Syrup 500ml $5.99 Thurs-Sun only

Loblaws has PC 500ml Pure Maple Syrup on sale for $5.99, May 9-12. In glass bottle, Grade A , Amber ("rich taste")

Check your points offers--I have 800pts for $4 spend. And for price matchers, many No frills carry this.

.
EDIT May 9: YMMV HOT side deal at Loblaws Forest Hill: PC Butter Infused Frozen Whole Chicken 1.6kg clearing out for $3 each (reg $10). They had about 20-25 left as of 9pm May 9. Find them in frozen meat display case, right next to frozen turkey, near the end of the yogurt aisle.

What type of cap does the bottle have? I hate twist off ones... Maple syrup always gets stuck/frozen into the grooves and it takes an army to twist it open.

Edit: NVM! The pictures didn't load initially before I posted my reply. Good deal. Thanks!

Can anyone vouch as to how good this is? Is it comparable to the one sold at Costco?

If you mean the Maple Crest brand that Costco sells in the 1 L plastic bottles, they are different grades- Dark and Very Dark. The PC is Amber grade. All are Grade A.

Ontario and Canada Colour Classification for Maple Syrup (Quebec product is the same) http://www.ontariomaple.com/maple-products-syrup-grades

I personally don't taste much of a difference between the PC Amber and the Maple Crest Dark (also sold at No Frills & Loblaws)

Do you have a screenshot of this offer in the app for 800 points when you spend $4?

It's a personal offer. I got the offer because I bought this when No frills had it on sale for same price a few months ago

What's the return policy at loblaws? Bought a 500ml bottle of maple syrup with the twist lid for $8.50ish a few days ago. Always loved the latch down lid style and may return the one I got for the latch down version.

Not sure exactly the policy, but it is fairly generous when it is a PC product.

I have been using this bottled one from PC for a while, and it tastes great. Is this deal Canada wide? I didn't see it in this week's flyer

This stuff is the medium, much better than the light version they called for over 10 years. I prefer the even darker version which is used for baking because of the even stronger taste.

No wonder I saw a big display of Maple Syrup at the front of store in Richmond Hill yesterday. Still have a few bottles in my pantry. Will have to confirm stock at home before I buy more.

All maple syrup is technically organic
The only difference is one has gone through the certification process and wants to charge/market you a higher price for the same product. Same thing as "free range" eggs. No real difference.

I doubt any grower is giving these sap producing tree anything special to make more sap, and these tree are also probably old enough and were born before the age of bio-engineering era. Don't they collect these SAP from tree in forest? to me that is organic enough!!
I always thought the free range eggs is about welfare of egg laying chicken, but in term of nutrient and content of the eggs are just identical to the typical grade A egg, like organic milk vs regular milk, the content in the bags or carton are absolutely the same (the difference is HOW it was produced and not what's being produced) .
