Lock rekey or replacement?

I need to replace locks (Taymor) due to tenant change.
The front door and garage door need to be the same key. What is an easy way to rekey these two locks?
Where can I get inside parts of both with a new key? Do I need to remove both and take to homedept to get exact match/fit?
Thx

Search Amazon for “ Electronic Keypad Deadbolt ”, Amazon basics version for $65. Buy two, you keep physical keys.

You can get the Weiser deadbolts with SmartKey feature, which lets you easily re-key.

Otherwise, you can call a locksmith, take to HomeDepot/Home Hardware/Rona, etc and see if they can re-key for you (depends if the store has someone who can, call first).

You can try to DIY, but not worth the hassle IMO.
Re-key kits can be bought relatively cheap.

I wasn’t able to find any consumer grade rekeying kits for Taymor locks, only the pro kit.

Weiser, Schlage and Kwik-set have consumer rekeying kits available and are usually available at Home Depot but my local store does not carry rekeying kits anymore.

If you buy new locks, get one of the above brand so you can rekey in the future or buy the SmartKey locks.

Taymor is low quality stuff (relatively speaking compared to say a Schlage or even Kwikset)

If you're not too concerned about security and want ease of rekey Kwikset/Weiser Smartkey to easily rekey yourself.

Or just get a Schlage and a Schlage rekeying set at Home depot.

a lot of builders used to use Kwickset, but now I noticed theyre switching to Weiser, some are weiser but the key is branded by the builders name but its still a weiser. this might throw off people but you can re-key these even if it does not say weiser just look for the hole in the lock
