[London Drugs] Display model 75" Sony X800H (warm?) $1199

London Drugs has about 20 of these units peppered throughout their locations - all of them display models. Sounds likely roughly a year of display model use. Anyone have insight if this is still a great deal given the 12hr/day * 365 usage?

2nd year warranty is free.

The price is $1199.

OP, please include the price in your post ideally in the subject line.

This is 100% display models - about a year on display

From: https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/sony/x800h As it was a display model, reading this about potential burn-in damage in the review is reassuring "With no risk of permanent burn-in, this TV also serves well as a computer monitor."
Basil: Well, may I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? The Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically -?

This 75” X800H is an IPS TV, without any local dimming.

I have the 43” X800E, which is an older sister to this TV. If I watch in the daytime with significant background ambient light it looks decent, albeit without true HDR. It also has decent viewing angles. However if in a dim room it does not look good because the blacks are very grey. I don’t expect the 75” X800H to fare any better because it is also IPS without local dimming. (Apparently the 85” is VA.)

I bought the X800E for daytime viewing or viewing at night with the lights on. Also, it’s in a large room with seating all over the place, thus requiring wide viewing angles. For that, it’s perfect, and it wasn’t too expensive. However, for my critical watching I’m in a dark room with a 65” LG C8 OLED.

I wouldn't. These were $1400 for a couple months end of last year. Now it's 6 months older and they are only dropping $200 for a display model on top of that? Hell, no! Id buy it for $900 possibly.
