It's possible, that you're paying for the shipping weight of the juicer (30lbs), and the metal used to make it. It's built like a tank.

I find the high quality of it really unusual, as I'd go into a store and give Kitchenaid products a slight push and they'd usually fall over. The juicer or mixer's, nope.

It's definitely not the same unit. The one from last year it's a basic one, which do the job, the one from here looks a little better. I am not a juice guru so for me the old one for a total of 30 bucks it makes the job done. If you are really into juicing there are the pressure (or something like this) juicers.

You know what's sad? My juicer arrived broken and they refuse to fix it and are only giving me my money back (after I ship it back).
