If you are going by overall points than yes. However B8 HDR is brighter as well the color volume is better. B8 also has out of the box calibration much better than B9. As I am not a gamer , low latency and HDMI 2.1 aint really big deal in my books and a brighter oled i will take any day especially if its 200 dollar cheaper. Btw i own B9 so I have nothing against it.

I hear you. Nice to see rational people who are able to find the best model for their needs even if it isn't "the best" ;)

I haven't seen a definitive answer on returning a TV to LD by shipping it back. In case of a defect, will LD pay return shipment?

Thanks for this post, wish I would have seen it when you first posted it, wanted a 65 c9 but I’ll take the 55 c9 I got, now I know to shop at LD when the CX goes in sale next year....

Got the 55C9 today. Display unit, 4000 hours, no burn in, no dead pixels, 1399 before tax
Happy with it so far, great display. Thanks OP
Should I be concerned regarding the amount of hours this thing clocked in the store?

These TVs have a life expectancy of 100,000 hours.

4000 hours is 500 days of the TV being on for 8 hours.

You only have an expected 12,000 more days of the TV being on for 8 hours a day.

Haha, love it! Thanks. Is that a life expectancy stated by LG or has it been tested by 3rd parties? Would be curious to read cheers

You think they are going to run the TV for 11.4 years (100,000/24/365) to make sure?

I'm not being bitter. There is some science and calculations to to the estimates, but it is very difficult to verify. It's not like a 3rd party testing house can get 1000's of TV's to run for a short time and then estimate how many of them would fail around the MTBF. MTBF verification is a lot easier for some devices like hard disks (e.g., BlackBlaze). For something like premium TV's, a good bet would be from counting the number of sets returned for repairs. I had an incident of having a CFL bulb died within a month of low use despite the claim of a 10K MTBF. MTBF's are just very rough estimates, unless they can be verified. I'd be more concerned with the warranty the manufacture gives than how long they estimate the device would last.

The OLED will kick your eyeball's ass but beyond "darker darks and way more vibrant colours" I think you really have to see to understand the stark difference.

For anyone with questions on LG burn in warranty, I emailed them and got this response today, the warranty differs in USA and Canada

Dear Customer,

Thanks for your inquiry.

The article you saw is only in USA.

Here in LG Canada, our standard warranty is only 1 year from the date of purchase, 2 years panel only warranty for burn in issue.

Burn in issue occurs when a certain image or picture stayed on the screen for a long period of time. The image and colors get burned on the panel which become image retention or simply, burn in.

We can prevent burn in issue by refraining ourselves from pausing the video for too long or watching a program which have stationary images like CNN for example.

Should you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us at https://www.lg.com/ca_en/support/contactus.

Refraining yourself from watching CNN is a good life habit anyway.

Without additional details tough to say, but if you're on a budget or size constraints go for the B9 55" and if you can swing the extra I'd go for the 65" B9 over the 55" C9. I'd take the extra screen over the video processing, personally.
