I have done it with the 2 TB model for my PS4 and it works fine. Another 2 TB model is hooked up externally to my Xbox One and also works fine.

Somewhat off-topic...

Time machine, and all, but this exact model was on sale at SDM several weekends ago for $99.99. Plus, in some of my family's accounts, there were digital Optimum offers for 15x points and even 18,500 on a $100 spend.

Outside of base points, 15x on $100 is worth $26.84+ at the highest redemption level, and 18,500 points is worth $33.10+

[I actually redeemed hundreds of thousands of points to get a bunch of these at $28.71 each after eco fee.]

Took some legwork and it's not "free shipping," but thought I'd throw that out there as a frame of reference.

Any time that things you need are stocked and competitively priced at SDM (not necessarily game consoles nor even electronics,) I'd suggest diverting funds and / or points in that direction if you want to stretch your dollar further. Long-term price monitoring and comparison apps like Flipp really pay off.

Still a decent deal at LD for what's available now (obviously.) But we've also seen 4TB for ~$110 on NewEgg's eBay after flash coupons (also disappearing in a flash.)

I didn't get in on this deal as I purchased the same drive through Best Buy at $250 and had them match with Memory Express at $120. They matched and credited me $130 and included the $13 price beat. Total price is $107 plus taxes. Memory Express price on this drive is $120 to Dec 31 so as long the price is high on Best Buy, its an excellent deal.
