Which one are you calling a 'newer version'? Still current on Philips website.

And for $140, how is it a waste of money compared to the 'newer version' which is probably twice the price?

They still have this version, but there is a new version so they are probably just trying to get rid of stock.

I never said it was a waste of money, i personally already own one and love it.

I don't need the fancy Bluetooth and app connected stuff that is offered from the new version.
